Our house is in a quiet neighborhood about 1 mile from South Mountain Park. Just 6 miles from downtown and 6 miles from Sky Harbor Airport!
As fellow AirBnB budget travelers and SuperHosts, we have a pretty good idea of what makes for a pleasant stay. The large bedroom includes a very comfortable queen size bed from Tuft and Needle - The #1 rated mattress in the world. We'll also provide really comfy sheets, pillows, and towels to make your stay enjoyable. There is a ceiling fan and oscillating desktop fan to keep you cool and you can also control the air conditioning if you get too hot. There is also a nice desk/chair and fast wireless internet is available for you throughout the house. In your room we have bins for recycling, compost, and trash so we can help you have an eco-friendly stay.
The bathroom is right next to your room. We have one other guest room that will share this bathroom with you if that room is also booked at the same time. The bathroom will alway be kept very clean for you. A hair dryer and iron/ board are also available.
In the large kitchen, you are welcome to prepare a fancy meal or just enjoy a complimentary cup of tea or hot chocolate! We have ice cold filtered water through the refrigerator, a four burner gas stove, outdoor BBQ, and microwave -- pretty much anything you need to prepare a meal!
The laundry room is available for your use. We have a front loading washer and gas dryer as well as an outdoor clothesline. Laundry detergent is provided complimentary for our guests.
We are an Eco-friendly house: 63% of our electricity is produced on our roof by solar. We have eco-friendly bamboo floors. In our backyard we grow grapes, mexican limes, tomatoes, red onions, garlic, carrots, green onions, serranos, jalapenos, basil, cilantro, squash, lettuce, spinach, snap peas, arugula, chard, broccoli, mustard, cress, pak choi, melons, and more. About 90% of our waste is recycled or composted. If you want to learn more about eco-friendly living, please ask!
If you are going to be travelling around the Southwest after your time in Phoenix, we will be happy to store any large bags, bicycles, or sporting equipment you have! We also have some sports and camping equipment including backpacks, trekking poles, and water bottles that you can borrow during your stay.
Want to explore the desert? You can rent one of four mountain bikes from our fleet. A Cannondale SM500 is $10/ day. Kona Blast is $15/ day. Opus Sonar is $15/ day. and the Kona Four is $20/ day. Ask for details and longer term rates. A car bike rack is also available for $4/ day.
In our backyard, you can relax on the patio and watch hummingbirds.
This is a great location for runners, hikers, mountain bikers, and cyclists! We have flat dirt canal paths 2 minutes away that are great for a workout! South mountain trails that will challenge experienced mountain bikers are just 5-10 minutes away. The 16,000 acre park offers over a hundred miles of desert mountain trails! We have great weather from October until May. June to September gets a little warm...
Long term guests are welcome! We've had several graduate students and business professionals stay with us for a few weeks or a month while they work at an internship or on a project.
Our guests have access to our full kitchen, laundry, dining area, living room, books, DVD library, and backyard patio. Essentially, everything shown in the pictures.

Check in is after 3PM and check out is before 12 noon, so we can prepare for the next guests. This is flexible if no other guests are coming or leaving the same day, so please ask if you need to come or leave at a different time.
No children under 12 years old please due to open water hazards in the backyard.
For your safety and ours, surveillance cameras are used on this property at the front door and back door area.
As this is Phoenix, AZ we enjoy warm temperatures. The house is typically kept around 80-82F during the summer months. If you have a preference for or condition that requires substantially colder temperatures in the summer, our place is not a good fit for you.
Please let us know your estimated arrival time at least the day before you come so we can make arrangements to welcome you.
-NO SMOKING anywhere on the premises please - Not even outside!
-No pets unless you arrange it with us in advance.
-This listing is not suitable for children and no children are permitted on the property due to water hazards.
-Please take off your shoes at the front door after entering.
-Please label any items you put in the fridge/ freezer/ pantry. We throw away (or eat) any unlabeled food once a week in order to keep the kitchen tidy.
-Park anywhere in the driveway or on the street directly in front of the house if there is no space in the driveway. Do not block the mailboxes across the street.
-Make yourself at home, but please clean up after yourself.
-Do not use our towels for removing makeup. Makeup removal cloths are provided for your convenience in the bathroom cabinet.
Please use the Airbnb site or App for all communications, both before and during your stay. We don't recommend calling, texting, or emailing as the response time will be usually be a lot longer.
