Bella (only miles from the Portland OR airport) is our lovingly restored 8 x 20 vintage camper in our garden. She nestles under a canopy, fruit trees, veggies and birdlife. Shared outdoor shower (Triton on demand) and composting toilet. Shaded private sitting area, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, fan. you'd never know you're a mere. 5-minute walk to stores and transport. She's rustic so please read full description before booking to ensure she'll meet your needs.
Bella nestles into our little urban farm at the bottom of our backyard and garden. Think.... mini orchard of 11 fruit trees, raised veggie beds, flower garden and garden pond. She's a compact space so we have expanded with her own screened off and shaded patio. As we have pretty much decommissioned her on the inside, we have built an adjoining washroom with a separate roomy shower and lovable loo and put a refrigerator on her patio. However, we provide drinking water as well as a large jug of water for you to perform small ablutions like brushing your teeth and washing your face inside her bathroom. Bella has a microwave, toaster, kettle, refrigerator (on the adjoining patio), fan and heater as well as basic amenities such as crockery, cutlery and utensils and a hairdryer. She also has coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Inside the steel closet (around the corner from the shower) you'll also find a small grill, electric frying pan and crock pot - please note any guests in the earth cottage share these, so please feel free to use them, wash them and return them. There is also a shared iron. Please be really careful to unplug it (and return it to the closet for others)- we're a bit paranoid about fire as we have had a place burn to the ground. She is covered by a canopy to shade her and help regulate her temperature but she can still get warm in summer. We only let Bella between May 15th and October 15th because it's too cold for the outdoor facilities outside of those times. Please note that prices are adjusted down in late spring and early fall because the weather can be unpredictable and unfortunately you may hit a cool spot and insulation isn't her strong point. She is neighbor to a small earth cottage which is also a small airbnb for 1 guest who will share the shower and toilet. Bella is screened from our home and the earth cottage by foliage. She's a great romantic getaway but great for solo travelers and anyone who likes being close to nature. We are LGBT friendly and love hosting our vets. Please note that our garden isn't the pristine manicured kind - it's whimsical with plenty of nitrogen-fixing dandelions, totally organic with lots of hidden sitting spots and tiny bits of art (often of a repurposed nature) tucked into unusual spaces.
Guests have off street parking, will have access to Bella and her amenities, the bottom half of the garden, and the private nook overlooking the pond. Please note our little spider friends love to take up residence in the nook and they're pretty fast workers, so in case they've been busy since I was last there, you'll find a small feather duster there but please try not to hurt them when you're removing them. We ask that you please don't pick fruits or veg from the garden without first checking with us. Please don't access any of the areas such as our garage, the garden shed, or our home, including the patios and the lawn in front it. There is plenty of garden around Bella as well as your own private screened off outdoor sitting area.

My interaction with guests is dependent on their needs. Whenever I can I like to welcome them and show them around. I do do potter in the garden, but won't disturb my guests with more than a hello wave and possibly a casual enquiry into how you're finding your stay. As I work from home, I ask that if it's at all possible I'm not disturbed from 8-5pm - although I am always available via text to attend to any of your needs.

It's really important to keep our gate closed at all times so that our neighbors feel safe because we have gates through to their yards (and please do not go into their properties). I do potter in the garden, watering, planting, harvesting and cutting back. I do this as unobtrusively as possible. You'll also find a bucket with environmentally friendly dish soap and a sponge to wash any dishes you might have. The dirty water can go on the small tree between the little earth cottage and the grey steel cupboard.
- Scalding alert: Please do not change temperature of water in shower whilst in the shower. And if there happen to be guests sharing these facilities in the neighboring camper, please be respectful of their needs .
-you're welcome to have guests so long as there are no children and they have left by and there isn't noise after 10pm so that our neighbors aren't disturbed
- Please make sure that all pedestrian and car access gates are securely closed when you enter or leave. They don't close automatically and we have promised our neighbors they will always be closed as we have gates through to their properties. Please don't go through neighbors gates
- Please do not pick produce or fruit, or use fire pit without checking if it's OK with us first
- Please no recreational drugs, not even if they are legal in Washington and no smoking anywhere on our property
- Please don't access: Shop, Garage, Small earth cottage and main house patio
-Please ensure that you follow the instructions placed in the washroom, composting toilet and Bella
but mostly enjoy your stay. Breathe and smell the roses:)
