We have just renovated our family cottage and adjacent Guest House in Nantucket's flag-spangled Historic District. The property is a short half-mile walk from town and the harbor, and only a mile from Children's Beach. No car needed!
The property contains both a main house and a separate guest house, making it a perfect get-away for couples traveling together or for families traveling with friends, grandparents or a nanny.
The main house features a large, open floor plan with cathedral ceilings, large beams and a 1940s red-brick-fireplace. Surrounded by large windows, the dining room is bright and airy -- a perfect spot to have breakfast and make plans for a day of sightseeing, sailing, and cycling around the island.
The new kitchen has custom cabinets, Corian countertops, stainless steel appliances, and an eat-in breakfast bar. Together with the grill on the patio, the kitchen provides you with everything you need to cook and serve the perfect backyard family BBQ. The dining table seats 4 to 6. The living room boasts a new comfortable sofa and a 48" SMART TV. You will also find a new front-load washer and dryer.
The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom and 32" SMART TV; the second bedroom sleeps three, with a queen bed and a single bunk. All told, the main house sleeps five.
The Guest House is immediately adjacent to the main house. It sleeps two and has been completely refurbished. It has a Full Bed, a 40" SMART TV, a private bathroom and a fully stocked kitchen. A small bluestone patio with a seating area for two and a small BBQ is located directly behind the guest house.
Nantucket is beautiful in the summer and the days are warm. To keep you cool, we've installed forced-air AC units in both the main house and guest house. The entire property is well-appointed with towels, bed linens, kitchen ware, utensils, glasses, dishes, and everything else you would need to feel at home on the island. Our caretaker lives just 2 miles away, so if you need anything he can be there in a matter of minutes. This house is great for families, couples, artists, writers, boaters, beach-lovers, and exhausted city-dwellers looking to relax.
Availability and rates change frequently during the high demand periods. All dates and rates must be confirmed with Owner prior to booking. Please note that published rates are based on weekly minimums. When allowed a stay period shorter than one week rates may increase to accommodate turn over.
For your protection, after booking through Airbnb, you will be required to sign a lease with the homeowner and Windwalker William Raveis to finalize the booking process.
This property is non-smoking.
That NO PETS of any description shall be kept on the premises. If any pets are found on the premises, this will constitute a violation of the terms and conditions of this lease, and could result in an immediate eviction. If said eviction occurs, all deposits made herein will be forfeited. Any exception to this rule must be written out and signed by all parties in the lease.
That the TENANT shall not sublet the leased premises, nor any part thereof.
That all personal property of the TENANT brought onto the leased premises shall be at the sole risk of the TENANT.
Owner will not be responsible for any damages to any personal property on the premises. Should a substantial portion of the premises be damaged by fire or other unavoidable casualty, owner may elect to terminate this lease. When such fire, casualty or other taking renders the premises or any part thereof unfit for use and occupancy, a just and proportionate abatement of rent shall be made.
Tenant hereby acknowledges that the leased premises may be subject to a mortgage. In the event this Lease is terminated by reason of foreclosure of a mortgage or other lien against the leased premises, Tenant hereby holds Broker harmless from and against any loss or damage resulting there from.
The LANDLORD acknowledges that under Massachusetts Law, the described property may be deemed to contain lead paint, if constructed before 1978. The LANDLORD acknowledges that wherever a child or children under 6 years of age resides in any residential premises in which any paint, plaster or other accessible materials contain dangerous levels of lead as defined pursuant to M.G.L. c.111, s. 199B the landlord shall remove or cover said paint, plaster or other materials so as to make it inaccessible to other children. The agent named herein does not know whether the lead paint is present in said property. The landlord agrees to indemnify and hold harmless, Windwalker Real Estate from any action taken by the tenant pursuant to an alleged violation of these regulations.
That the TENANT agrees to allow the LANDLORD or his agent, upon 24 hour notice to show the premises should the property be listed for sale; to inspect the premises; to make repairs and improvements to the premises, and to protect the premises if it appears that said premises have been abandoned by the TENANT.

He has been coming to the island since 1993 while at the University of Delaware. He started his real estate career in 2014.
Previously John was an independent sales rep for 16 snow sports and other related companies servicing 180 accounts in the Northeast, was VP of Sales for Glass Eye Media (web development), Director of Business Development for M2 Discovery (voice discovery), and Executive VP of Siren Marine (M2M) winner of the RI Business Plan Competition Technology Award, and Overall winner 2012.
When not working, John's passions are fishing, exploring the less traveled parts of the island, playing with his 1963 Sunbeam Alpine, and anything on snow.
