Hinterland House is our family friendly barn conversion that we built and moved into during Summer 2016 and rent out when we are away. The house has a large private garden and meadow with a sun trap terrace just outside the kitchen double doors. The garden includes an eating area, fire pit and a children's play area with sand pit and climbing frame plus an acre of meadow to explore with a backdrop of countryside and Dartmoor National Park in the distance.
We want families to be as comfortable as possible during their stay so can provide; linen and towels, a highchair (suitable from 6 months), beach toys/ garden toys/ picnic blankets etc that guests are welcome to use during their stay. We have young children so if there is anything that you need during your stay we are happy to help.
There is ample parking, granite steps lead down to the front door and shed. The glass roofed open planned entrance leads to the large, modern kitchen with dining table. The sky light above floods the kitchen with light and there is a roomy table to sit and enjoy good food and company. The kitchen is very well equipped with modern appliances and plywood units with stainless steel worktops.
To the right of the front door is the useful utility room with ample storage, various household necessities such as a washing machine, it leads to a shower room with toilet.
From the kitchen, solid oak stairs lead up to the cozy living room with a comfortable sofa and three armchairs. At the far end is the children’s area with toys and books plus a wooden play and rocking horse for smaller children. There is a Smart TV and a collection of dvd’s and books that guests are very welcome to use during their stay.
On the lower ground floor you will find a double bedroom, a lovely bathroom with luxurious roll top bath and a bright south facing twin bedroom. All bedrooms have blinds to help encourage lie ins..!
Near the entrance hall is a sliding door into the master bedroom with en-suite shower room. This room benefits from floor to ceiling windows overlooking the garden and a super king bed.
Hinterland House has underfloor heating throughout fuelled by a ground source heat pump plus many features to make it as sustainable as possible, and warm and cosy.
The house is in a great location for exploring Cornwall being around 15 minutes off the A-30 and around 20 minutes drive from the North Coast. Beaches such as Crackington Haven and the surfing beach Widemouth Bay are within easy reach but the house is tucked away in a sleepy part of Cornwall well away from the tourist areas. You can enjoy walks through rolling countryside from the house on the many public footpaths, one of which leads to The Tamar Otter Park and cafe Nr the village of North Petherwin.
We enjoy; the beaches, Dartmoor, campfires in the garden, stargazing, cliff path walking, public footpath exploring, ice cream, the visiting wildlife in the garden, the Camel Trail at Wadebride, bike tracks at Lanhydrock National Trust, Boscastle, Port Isaac, Polzeath, rock pooling, catching the ferry from Rock to Padstow, the Eden Project, surfing and bodyboarding, coffee and sourdough toast in Launceston after a tour around the Castle, the sea pool in Bude and many many more brilliant days out! We love where we live and hope to see you soon.
The house and garden will be only occupied by guests during their stay and they have full access to the whole house and the garden/ meadow. Guests can walk down the farm lane (please be careful of farm machinery and keep a close eye on children) in order to access the many public footpaths in the area, one of which leads to the Tamar Otter Park and cafe. Details of the walks are in the house.

Другие важные подробности
It is worth noting that Hinterland House is situated a mile down a farm lane which can get muddy and does have some pot holes. It is a working farm so there may sometimes be cows crossing on the farm lane or tractors and trailers nearby harvesting silage. Overall it shouldn't affect your stay but perhaps be understanding of the nature of location.
As this is our family home and we live nearby we need to know it is well looked after and in safe hands; i.e. no extra overnight guests, no parties/ events etc. Thank you for your understanding.
Also please keep a close eye on your children and ensure they play within in the boundary of the garden not in the farm yard or on the lane.
