A tranquil Beyoğlu apartment with a lot of small, handmade details, full of original artwork; in the heart (but away from the chaos). Comfortable and just the right size for 2.
I am currently living in this appartment. I am travelling from time to time, which is why I am willing to open it for all the wanderers who seek for a central and comfy apartment in the meanwhile.
There is a hand made fireplace (for candles only) in the bedroom. The dining table and stools were custom made by a local carpenter. There is space for clothing in the vintage wooden wardrobe and the top drawer of the dresser. The kitchen has a stovetop, an oven, and an electric water boiler plus cooking and serving utensils. A hairdryer and clean towels are provided. In addition to the double bed, there is a sofa (see photos), which can pull out into a gigantic extra bed if needed. During the daytime, the windows get a lot of sunlight.
I am also happy to give advice and tips for the city, as well as provide maps and guides. I really do care about this apartment a lot, and I appreciate guests who do so as well. This is a special and personal place - thanks for respecting the house rules and being tidy.
Общение с гостями
I will happily recommend (my favorite, non-touristic) places for eating/drinking/observing and am happy to answer any questions. If I am travelling, friends of mine will help you get the keys, and I'll keep myself available if you need anything by phone or email. If I am around, I will be more than happy to show you around, have a drink or a nice meal together - also helping you out if any need.
Другие важные подробности
2nd floor, walk-up, but the stairs aren't too bad.
A note to sensitive sleepers: There is a mosque nearby. Besides the mosque, the street is otherwise quiet for a city of 16+ million. I usually live with a charming kitten, therefore beware if you are allergic, there might be some hair of hers around. She will stay at a friend when I am away.
This is not a hotel room. I appreciate guests who treat the apartment with respect. This means that I would like you to act like this like your own home: please clean up after your messes, try not to disturb the neighbors, and take responsibility if you cause damage. When in doubt -- I am a phone call or an e-mail away to answer any questions and help you out with anything you might need.
Please follow these simple rules:
1. Take your shoes off upon entering. There are slippers for you to wear around the flat if you like.
2. Always open the windows while smoking and leave them open for a bit afterwards to keep the air fresh.
3. Please turn off the heater (kombi) if you go outside.
4. Do not flush any toilet paper or sanitary products down the toilet. It may clog the system. Instead, place in the rubbish bin to the left of the toilet.
5. The washing machine is currently a bit difficult to use :) It is an old machine that I don't have the heart - neither the money- to replace. But it works, with certain explanations I can give to you on demand.
Any more information you'll need can be found on the message board inside the home, along with guidebooks, maps, and recommended places to visit.
The wifi name and password is also on that message board, and so are the locations of dumpsters to throw out your trash.
Also, be advised that you might need to apply for an e-visa (online visa) before entering Turkey. Check online to see if needed - the system is changing & visas on arrival may be limited or difficult to obtain.
