We have a lovely large house in Headingley, with a quiet comfortable single bedroom on the top floor (steep stairs) for travellers, academics etc. We don't serve breakfast, but you are welcome to help yourself to tea & proper coffee, homemade bread and marmalade. You can sit in the garden if the weather allows. We have two cats who believe that they own the house. But we are the hosts - my husband Tim and I. We do a variety of work and study and are often around in the house to help guests.
The room is quiet, warm and comfortable. It has a single bed for one person.
The bathroom is shared with ourselves - and sometimes weekend guests. We don't serve breakfast, but you are welcome to help yourself to tea and proper coffee, homemade bread and marmalade. You can use the kitchen to store, heat up or even cook food. Please eat in the kitchen rather than your room. You can sit in the garden if the weather allows.

If you are coming from Leeds Bradford Airport, a taxi will cost around 25-30 pounds. To get to us from the airport by public transport you need to follow these instructions:
From the Airport get the 757 bus to Leeds for 3.80 pounds and ask for stop 10931 Wolseley Road.
When you get off the bus, our house is a mile away. You could call a taxi or:
To walk, go back the way the bus came and take Cardigan Lane. Walk up Cardigan Lane, until you reach Burley Park Station. Cross over the other side of the station to Chapel Lane. Walk up Chapel Lane to Broomfield Road which has a red postbox at the corner. Halfway down Broomfield Road you will see Rochester Terrace. Our house is near the top.
Alternatively, when you get off the 757, walk the direction of that bus until you get to Willow Road on your left. Walk up Willow Road, cross Burley Road to Cardigan Road, walk a short way and you will find a bus stop on your left. Take a 19 or 19A bus two stops along Cardigan Road to opposite Spring Road (ask for this - should cost 1 pound). When you get off the bus, walk back a few steps the way the bus came to Chapel Lane which is down the side of a little triangle of grass and trees. Turn right into Broomfield Crescent, then left into Rochester Terrace. This will save you some walking.
Please leave your outdoor shoes in the hallway. You are staying with us in our home, so rather than make any more rules, we just ask that you treat both with respect and consideration.
I live with my husband in Leeds. We are an older couple who don't like being older, so we keep doing things like studying and travelling. We have had various people stay with us. We have stayed friends with some of them.
