I had a terrible experience! Due to the neighbor nearby, I abruptly left the cabin in the middle of the night around 1:00am. I haven't had an experience quite this terrifying in my life. I awoke to a person screaming in the middle of the night. Mind you, this is a very remote location with no cell service and I'm a young woman alone in the cabin. I became very worried when I realized the yelling was coming from the house a few hundred feet across the way, which is not the host's house next to the cabin. The screaming wouldn't stop and I could hear the person yelling profanities and phrases such as, "get out of my house!" and "get out or I'll come get you!". I can't say for sure it was directed at me, but I was extremeley frightened. I felt that, despite the locks on the cabin, this person could have gotten in. I became so scared that I packed up my things as quietly as possible and without turning on any lights. As I walked out, I could hear dogs barking and was afraid they would run out. I made it to my car and safely to a hotel 2 hours away (I was 5 hours from home). I can't explain how terrified I was by this experience. The posting did say there was a chance of noise, but I feel that was a big understatement. I can deal with a neighbor's loud music or guests, but with this yelling, I felt that my safety was in danger. I was so relieved to get away and find a hotel with vacancy at that hour. Although I never met the host (self check-in), she was very nice about the situation, is giving me a refund, and contacted the sheriff's department. I would not recommend staying here until the situation is sorted out.
