Since we were planning a 4-week trip for our family, we had high expectations for where we stayed in Corfu - Richardos' hospitality and his home exceeded all of our expectations. As soon as we confirmed our booking, Richardos connected with us to take care of any special requests to make our trip special. He arranged a cooking class, a Greek-language tutor and even a car rental - all were excellent.
When we arrived in Corfu, Richardos met us at the taxi stand and helped us and our two young boys take our luggage to the apartment and get settled. The apartment was exactly as described and absolutely spotless, which is important since we are admittedly neat freaks. Additionally, the fridge was stocked with local goods, beverages (wine too!), and homemade olive oil and olives. Awesome. His amazing wife Spiradoula, who seems to be the mastermind behind the spotless and well-stocked apartment, gave us tutorials on the washer, appliances, etc. The location in old town couldn't be better. It's in the heart of town, but on a quite alley that allows you to be in thick of the action while having peace and quite at night. The neighbors downstairs were always smiling faces through the day that would help us with our broken Greek(we wanted to learn the language though everyone in Corfu speaks great English).
During our stay, Richardos was always available, answering questions within hours if not minutes. As interesting activities came up, for example local festivals, he'd a shoot a note over to let us know. While we do have some roots in Greece, we don't in Corfu, but Richardos and Spiradoula always made us feel like family, even bringing a Spanakopita (spinach pie) from Spiradoula's mom (yum!).
As we said our final goodbyes on our last day, we were already talking about when we would come back. We give our highest recommendation to this apartment and Richardos and Spiradoula as hosts if you are planning a trip to Corfu.
