Stay where you really want to be – ON THE WATER! One or two guests will enjoy this cozy one bedroom, one bath, lower-level, private-entrance, SMOKE/vape-FREE (inside and outside), apartment that offers stunning water views and backyard access to a rare coastal dune lake – just steps away from the door of your rental apartment. Use the kayaks and Stand-up Paddle boards provided “free” for your enjoyment to explore the serene dune lake or for a quick paddle to the sugar-white beach on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. The week of July 4th is a 5-7 night rental only. All other months, there is a 4+ night rental required. NO smoking or vaping anywhere on the property please - owner has severe allergies to tobacco and vaping products and smoke.
This is a cozy cottage for TWO adults, with very simple accommodations for a stress-free stay. This cottage is not a resort, luxury hotel - consider one of the more expensive accommodations on 30A if that is your preference. To maintain the reasonable price of this cottage rental unit, the accommodations remain simple, with an emphasis on low-key, clean comfort. Guests are expected to clean up after themselves (this is not a hotel with maid service) and rinse off watercraft paddles and accessories after a day on the water. Please secure the water craft after each "voyage."
This wonderful location at Adrift Cottage allows you to walk (15 min) or bike ride (10 min) to the beautiful beaches. Looking for some fantastic dining, live music, or shopping? Adrift cottage is located on scenic route 30-A in Seagrove Beach, on the water, midway on 30A between Rosemary Beach (3 miles West) and Seaside (2 miles East) – walk or bike on scenic, county road 30-A to all of the local attractions and dining; one minute’s walk from the cottage will put you on the 30-A bike/jog path – 20 miles of fun and recreation can be accessed when traveling on the bike/jog path.
Looking to relax? Your comfort is assured at Adrift Cottage with the vintage, four-poster "Captain's" bed and the two separate living spaces, which can be closed off with the pocket doors. All linens are washed with hot water, quality detergent, and germicidal bleach (if white) prior to each guest's arrival. Mattress, boxsprings, and bed pillows have bedbug covers, and the mattress pad and white bed quilt are also washed with hot water detergent and bleach prior to each guest's arrival. Bath linens are also washed with germicidal bleach in hot water. Cleanliness and your comfort is our goal. The indoor living space offers a separate bedroom with a queen-size bed and full closet for guest storage needs. In the cozy living area, guests will enjoy a 43” flat screen TV & Sony DVD player for the DVD movies provided (TV does not get cable channels - use is for DVDs only) secure wi-fi connection, plump loveseat and also a wicker chair for lounging while watching movies, dining table and luxurious granite kitchen prep area for light meals. Dining is either inside your suite at a comfortable, full-size table with water view, or on your private screened porch, enjoying a private garden area and again, a fabulous water view. This unit offers an under-counter refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster and coffee maker, and enough dishes to prepare a very simple meal (THERE IS NO OVEN/STOVE and NO ADDITIONAL ELECTRICAL KITCHEN APPLIANCES CAN BE BROUGHT INTO THE UNIT FOR USE BY GUESTS). There is a charcoal grill available on the patio to cook your fresh, catch of the day or other meats/veggies. Local dining, within a very easy walking distance, is superb, and offers an incredible selection of excellent cuisine. Why worry yourself with tedious cooking – you are on VACATION – eat where the locals eat, at all of the fine restaurants on scenic 30-A!
Two docks are available for guests’ use, with one dock specifically designed for easy launch of the watercraft (double kayak and stand-up paddle boards - SUP). Enjoy the sunset over the lake while relaxing on your private veranda or down on the dock. Pull up a chair on the dock or on the white, sandy backyard beach; soak in some sun. You deserve complete relaxation!
Adrift Cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood with unobstructed water views and towering ancient oak trees. A stay at this cozy cottage offers you the opportunity to truly slow down and enjoy Old Florida charm at its best.
**Guests should be aware that the owner lives in the upper-level unit, and there is one very gentle, elder beagle that has use of the backyard at a few, select times of the day. This rental may not be a comfortable stay for those allergic to or afraid of dogs. The resident dog does assume that everyone wants to make her acquaintance if you should meet in the backyard. Isn't that what life's about. . . making new friends?
NOTE: This is an adults-only, max two guests, over the age of 25, rental cottage. No spring breakers under the age of 25. IDs required upon check-in. There is NO SMOKING or vaping anywhere on the property, inside or outside due to owner's allergies to tobacco and vaping products. Thank you.
FISHING LICENSE REQUIRED- All visitors who are fishing in either salt or fresh water are required by the state to have a Fishing License, unless they are participating in a fishing charter. Licenses can be obtained by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission —(URL HIDDEN)
Guests should be mindful of the natural surroundings of the dune lake and the Adrift Cottage property. Guests accept all liability and risks when encountering any wildlife, pets, or animals in the neighborhood, on the dune lake, on the beach, on the Adrift Cottage property or inside the Adrift apartment. Florida offers beauty in its natural and pristine woodlands, beaches, and dune lakes. The natural setting also offers habitat for wildlife as part of the natural ecosystem that is protected and cherished in the Gulf Coast area. Natural habitats, such as dune lakes, may be home to frogs, snakes, turtles, lizards, alligators, bears, deer, various species of birds, etc. Guests should be cautious and mindful of their surroundings and refrain from any encounters with wild animals. This is not meant to scare you, only to allow city-dwellers ample information :)
Rental guests have full access to the lower-level apartment, screened porch, veranda, patio with grill and fire pit, backyard, docks and watercraft (double kayak, 2 stand-up paddle boards, with paddles and life vests), beach wagon with cooler, and two paved parking spaces for guests' cars. Use of the stand-up paddle boards (2) and the double-kayak (1) are included in the rental price – a savings to you of $80 or more PER DAY, per person, if you were to rent watercraft elsewhere on 30A. There is NO electrical outlet for golf cart battery charging; if renting a golf cart, a gas cart will be needed. GUESTS MAY NOT BRING ADDITIONAL COOKING APPLIANCES INTO THE UNIT - THIS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED - Thank you.

Host lives in the separate upstairs unit. Guest apartment was constructed with sound-proofing insulation and private entrance for protection of guest privacy. The best way to communicate a need to the host is via text or phone call to the host. Utility and apartment emergencies addressed 24/7 by host. Personal space of the host needs to be respected by rental guests, and rental guests will have their privacy respected as well. Host does not use the backyard when guests are present and enjoying the property or dock; however, host does periodically accompany the dog into the yard to monitor her and pick up her "gifts." The host will periodically need to water backyard plants if it is a dry spell in the weather, but will try to do this while guests are at the beach.

A completed and signed Rental Agreement is required to book this property - it will be emailed to guests upon request. Reservations are not final until owner has received the completed, signed Rental Agreement.
There are no laundry services for guests on the property; however a full laundry/dry-cleaning provider is available near the Publix grocery store, two miles away. Beach towels are provided (2 per guest per week).
There are NO electrical outlets to charge golf carts.
NO additional kitchen, electrical appliances may be brought into the apartment for cooking purposes per Walton County fire code.
Bicycle and golf-cart rental businesses are located within a short walking distance from the cottage. There are NO bicycles available on the property for guest use.
The cottage and Seagrove Beach area are located approximately 30 minutes drive from the Panama City Beach International airport. Allow, however, for summer traffic that can add another 30 minutes to the drive during busy rental transition days (Saturdays in particular). If using taxi services, always allow extra time to catch your airport flights home.
No pets or smoking. No smoking means anywhere on the property, inside or outside. No weapons, drugs, or illegal misc. allowed on the property. Primary and secondary renter must be at least 25 years or older at the time of rental. Photo IDs required upon check-in. Only two automobiles per party. No RVs, trailers or boats allowed. No more than two guests allowed in the property at any time. No overnight, non-paying guests. A complete list of all policies and house rules is available upon request. Please request and read before booking a reservation. A signed rental contract is required before booking can be reserved.
