But if you venture out, there's alot to do including numerous beach coves, Bowling Ball Beach, the Point Arena Lighthouse, Byron Preserve, diving, fishing, point break surfing, kayaking, and fantastic redwood hiking. You'll also love the charm of our little beach town complete with our own Casari Mercantile, local galleries, classic movie theatre, a fabulous wine bar with live music every night, bakery, local shops and restaurants. We even have pet sitting with Bed & Bone. Additional excursions include Mendocino (botanical gardens, shops, fine dining, local art), Fort Bragg (Skunk Train, Glass Beach, timber museums, brew pubs, and more), and classic tiny coastal towns up and down the Pacific Coast Hwy. Enjoy wine and beer tasting in Alexander Valley and Boonville within an hour of the ranch.
Here at the ranch we believe in environmentally friendly living, ranching and farming practices. Our lovely three bedroom guest house is furnished with antiques, books, DVD's, a wood stove plus a wall heater for a warm cozy environment. Each bed is covered in our own organic grown-milled & made on the ranch, Casari wool™ bedding and organic cotton sheets and towels. Each room features some of our family paintings and treasures to really make this feel like home.
Tours: We offer buggy tours of the ranch that take 1 - 1.5 hours and can be arranged on arrival. The tour costs $100 (for up to 6, additional guests are $10 per person). Our tour is a truly educational and unique way to see the ranch, learn about our sheep, the wool industry, and experience one of the only wool mills in CA. We are one of the only ranches in the USA that grows mills and makes all of our wool bedding, rugs, fabrics and more right here on the ranch. No carbon footprint, it doesn't get better than that. The tour includes a visit to our private fern gully, exploring special medicinal plants, forests and our horse clan.
We also offer Time with Horses which includes an hour of grooming, being with and learning about horses. Additional fee of $100/ hour. Or for those that want a private coaching session with Ariana Strozzi, founder of Equine Guided Coaching and Leadership & Horses™ additional fee is $295 per 1.5 hour session for 1 or more persons.
