This spacious and airy master bedroom of a two bedroom apartment is located in a 1920s brick building in the vibrant neighborhood of Highland Park located between Downtown LA and Pasadena. Hardwood floors, high ceilings (9ft) and a private entrance from hall. Wi-Fi.
The apartment has an a vintage railroad (long hallway) lay-out. Two bedrooms (yours and mine are on opposite ends of the hallway, for maximum privacy). The shared full bathroom is at one end and between us are the full kitchen and a living/dining room, which is the heart of the home. It has a large flat screen TV with a Blu-ray player and Netflix streaming. The living/dining room is also something of a home bakery, which I use regularly to make cakes and cookies. I welcome guest bakers to share their recipes and creations! But if you're here and you don't want the place to smell like fresh cookies, that's cool, I can wait.
The apartment is across the street from a neighborhood public library and park with great uninterrupted views from the window. Restaurants and bars within walking distance on historic Figueroa Blvd. So much great food! A 24-Hour Mexican authentic food place a block away, cheap delicious pizza about five blocks away, a great Vietnamese place, and several bakeries. A record store, antique typewriter repair, a cozy local bar with smoky margaritas, an old $3 movie theater; a great neighborhood to explore!
The apartment is just three blocks walk from the highland park gold line station, Pasadena, Downtown LA, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Hollywood and Universal City are easily accessible. If driving, choose between the 110, 5, 2 and 134 freeways to carry you all over the city. A bus stop right outside the building.
You're welcome to visit the roof and fire escapes for contemplative gazing at the sunset. The apartment is on the second floor, and there is also a staircase leading up to the building from the street, so the views of the neighborhood are great.
