We enjoyed our stay at Olga's apartment. The location was great and very central to many spots that we walked to. We flew into Gatwick Airport, so it was nice that the Gatwick Express goes right to Victoria Station, less than a 5 min walk to Olga's apartment. Her friend met us to let us in and showed us the place, so check in was easy, and Olga was very quick to respond via messaging. The apt is charming and spacious, with double-paned windows to help block out the noise. The bathroom is small but clean (with a super tiny shower), but does not have any outlet in it to plug anything in. I had to blow dry my hair in the kitchen with no mirror, which was definitely odd for me. I asked Olga about it and she said they typically blow dry their hair in the bedrooms.
One other thing to point out is that we thought we had rented the entire apartment with both bedrooms and beds; but after checking in, the 2nd bedroom was locked and we were told she only rents that out for more than 4 people (?). My son and daughter had to share the pull out couch area, which can be a bit strange for a teenager to have to do with her brother, but was okay for just 2 nights. I guess I misunderstood this from the rent agreement (the listing says entire apartment), so you may want to check with her before renting on this if you need more than 1 bedroom.
The master bedroom has a bright street light right outside the window, and while there are roll down blinds (interior) if you like a dark room at night, be sure and bring a sleep mask as the light definitely pours through the sides of blinds. I slept well both nights with the mask but was glad I had it! All in all, we loved our quick stopover in London and her home worked great for the 2 nights. She is a very good host.
