This place is an amazing, magical, remote, gorgeous little eco-village in the making. The dirt road to get to the property is well maintained gravel washboard/hardpack; the road on the property is a bit more rutted but fine with a family car if you are used to driving dirt roads. This place is rustic, and amazing, and very sweet. Treat it like camping - take warm layers, headlamp, sturdy shoes, and your food/snacks. There is no plumbing, no electricity, and almost no phone signal.
We had a campfire and marshmallows with Renee and her friends, and it was so much fun! (So take some marshmallows :) ) The cabin is not totally sealed to the outside world, and is very rustic, so you might see a house spider or a field mouse inside. Outside I saw deer, and bunnies, and lots of song birds.
You'll go to bed with an amazing view of the stars, and wake up to the sound of birds.
Renee is a delight, and was very welcoming and thoughtful. I would have loved to chat with her more about her projects and experiences.
This place is a great meditation retreat or romantic get away. Closest towns are Spring City (Das Cafe is excellent), and there are several restaurants in Ephraim.
