Our 96 year old beach cottage is steps away from popular Alki Beach, 25 restaurants/cafes, and public transportation to downtown Seattle. We are just a 10 min walk to the only old growth forest park in the city and a 25 min drive to SeaTac airport.
Our Airbnb space is a fully furnished and freshly painted and carpeted basement unit in our home. Even in sometimes soggy Seattle, not a drop of outside moisture has ever been detected in the unit. Being a daylight basement, it is well insulated as well as protected from outside noise. The lighting is muted on overcast or on our shorter winter days, but is bright and inviting when the sun is out. The baseboard electrical heat provides ample warmth and during warm summer days, the basement is the coolest place in the house. Direct access is via a backdoor and down six steps. Being an older home, the floors above the unit can be a bit squeaky, but we do not tend to have raves so you should not find it annoying. Due to one low support beam, we discourage bookings by individuals over 6 feet (183 cm) tall.
BEDROOM- One comfy king bed with mattress topper which can be converted to a pair of twin beds. Classic Pendleton wool blankets. Table and lamp on each side of bed.
BATHROOM - Full shower/tub, sink, unique "throne" toilet, towels, hair dryer.
KITCHEN - Full sized frig, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, electric water kettle, eating counter. NO oven/range in unit.
LIVING ROOM - Loveseat, desk, flat screen TV (useful for watching DVD's but does not get regular channels), informational guides and a menus notebook for local restaurants.
WASHER/DRYER - in unit with on the wall drying racks for delicate items.
ON SITE PARKING for 1 to 2 cars.
Self serve breakfast items will be stocked in kitchen including a welcome basket with fresh fruit, microwavable oatmeal, and bottled water. Plus cold cereal or granola, English muffins as well as 2% milk, juice, coffee and herbal tea supplies are available.

We are a retired couple living in the upstairs section of our cottage. We are very active in our community and busy with our athletic endeavors, but make every effort to be at home on your arrival and departure. We have a lock box with door keys available in case we are not present at either of these times. On arrival, we offer our guests a small basket of treats including bottled water. Hostess is conversant in French and basic Spanish. We strive to do whatever we can to make your stay comfortable and up to your expectations. We can only improve if our guests provide feedback on any concerning issues, so we welcome your comments.

There is NO oven/range in the unit. Ample restaurants, cafes, and a few bars are minutes away by foot.
Individuals over 6 foot (183 m) tall might find the low support beam in the living room incompatible with their height.
Access to unit requires the use of a flight of six stairs.
Be sure to not leave any valuables in your vehicle especially if visible by passersby.
Please sign the guest register on arrival.
We live in a friendly, peaceful residential neighborhood. Please help us keep it that way by observing quiet hours and avoiding use of the washer/dryer between 10 pm and 6 am.
NO smoking in the unit or anywhere on the property.
NO pets of any kind, sorry.
NO lit candles.
If there are any food/liquid spills on the carpeting, please let us know immediately so we can clean it before it stains permanently.
NO extra overnight guests. If you wish to have visitors, please discuss this with us before inviting them.
Use the recycle, food waste and other garbage bins in the kitchen: RECYCLED items include all clean paper, plastic, aluminum, glass. FOOD WASTE is ALL plant and animal food waste. Everything else is GARBAGE and goes in the unmarked bin. Thank you!
