We are renting a private basement apartment in our home. The apartment space is totally private, nothing shared. It has a separate bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette with mini fridge and coffee maker (there is no stove for cooking). You will have use of a hair dryer. There are small windows in the bedroom and kitchenette area. The bathroom and kitchenette are all newly built. Full size bed sleeps 2 people. We cannot accommodate more than 2 people, sorry!
Our basement room with private bathroom and kitchenette is located in our home where we reside upstairs. There are custom-made artistic details throughout the apartment, including beautiful steel banister, thick maple wood bench, sculptural metal table and unique sculpture throughout.
Interesting concave yellow bathroom tiles light up the bathroom.
Bushwick is a vibrant community with lots of restaurants, bars, art galleries, cafes and street art.

This is a great place to stay if you're looking for grass-roots art and music and cool places off the beaten track. You will not be in the middle of New York's prettiest architecture and the graffiti on some buildings may seem intimidating but we love it here. We are located in Bushwick, home to a thriving arts community. We are within close walking distance of art galleries, cafes, and nice restaurants and bars. Twice a year, Bushwick is home to open studio events that include over 300 artists.
Our house is a 7 min walk to the L train (Jefferson St stop); 15min train ride to Manhattan (East Village and Union Square.) We are also a 5 min walk to the M train (Central Ave stop); 15min train ride to Manhattan (Lower East Side, Soho, West Village, Midtown.) Also 5min ride on either train to Bedford Ave in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. NYC subways run 24hrs/day. We are happy to provide you with directions and recommendations. You will be provided with a map of our favorite places within walking distance.
Wifi and shared use of washer and dryer included.
No smoking. This is a legal rental in our 2 family home. We live in the upstairs apartment. Please send me a message confirming availability and telling me a bit about yourself before booking.
You will have a private bedroom with bathroom and kitchenette. A shared washer/dryer is located at the top of the stairs going to the basement (where your room is located). Sometime basement guests have a problem because they can hear the laundry in use.
I am almost always around to greet you when you arrive or we can leave the keys for your convenience.
Lots of great restaurants, bars, music venues, art galleries and cafes. A city park is just one block away.
Check in is preferably before 10pm. Late-night check in must be negotiated.
Please send me a message before booking to confirm logistics of your arrival.
Travels access the space throughout the front door of the building, walk through a garage/gallery space and through another door down to the basement.

Enjoy your stay!
While my wife Silvia and I have managed our airbnb rentals for several years together, I will now be the main contact in order to give her a break. So here is a little about me. I'm a metal sculptor, assemblage artist with a degree in Biochemistry, I love to make art, surf and play with my two young kids, eat good food and travel. But now that I'm a Dad, I don't travel as much, so I let we the travelers come to me. The kids and I love going to the beach at Rockaway, art openings and going to cafes. You might spot my kids and I racing down the sidewalks in Bushwick on our skateboards.
