Furnished living van with wood burning stove, set in a 4 acre Suffolk meadow. Sleeps 4 adults or family of 4 in two double bunks. Fire pit for outdoor cooking and cosy stargazing. Luxury compost loos, wood heated shower, and canvas camp kitchen.
Our small, off grid camping and glamping site only has six tent pitches, two furnished bell tents, a Norfolk shepherd's hut, and our locally made living van. We give each its own space among the tall meadow grass, which means that you are surrounded by local wildlife. We aim to provide a space where you can escape, relax, and enjoy cooking over an open fire and stargazing under our huge Suffolk skies.
Guests have access to their own fully furnished living van, with two double bunk beds that can accommodate 4 adults or a family of 4 (there is space for a third child if they are small so do ask). We include linen and towels. The living van has its own wood burning stove with oven and surface for cooking. It is also equipped with dining and camp cooking kit, as well as a cool box with cool blocks that can be refrozen on site. We have added restored furniture, handmade crochet blankets and extra handcrafted touches to create a cosy, farmhouse feel. As we are off grid the van is lit with solar powered lighting (we also provide a solar powered USB charger). Guests have their own sheltered outdoor seating area and a fire pit with tripod and grill for campfire cooking. We also provide a one pot rocket stove for boiling your kettle. Guests have access to the communal area via a winding path cut into the meadow. Here you will find a communal camp kitchen with more kit for cooking and dining, an undercover washing up area and a large fire pit with log seating. Guests also have access to a bike shed with secure bike storage, cycling and walking maps, and supplies of wood and charcoal. It is important to us that we reduce our environmental impact, so the campsite has two spacious compost loos with their own sink units and a wood heated hot shower.

We are always happy to share local knowledge or provide tips on where to eat out or visit.

We provide free bike hire and lots of local maps and guides. To promote sustainable travel we also offer a 10% discount for guests arriving on foot, by bicycle or by public transport. Do let us know if this applies to you and we can refund 10% of your fee.
We also offer food parcels (booked in advance) so do get in touch for more information. If you fancy some adventurous outdoor cooking, we have a cob pizza oven and are very happy to show you how it works.
Alpaca trekking will be available on site from May 2017.
We are a small, quiet site surrounded by local wildlife and ask that guests respect this when they stay.
We ask that you do not bring amplified music with you, but acoustic instruments around the campfire are always welcome! We try to keep noise to a minimum after 10pm.
Please help us to keep the communal spaces tidy by clearing up after yourself in the camp kitchen and washing up area.
We do not allow pets on the meadow as it wouldn't be fair on the hares, deer and birds that we share it with.

I live in sunny Suffolk with my husband and three children. We run our 80 acre family farm with my father, and Ling's Meadow is our small eco campsite. The site is set within a 4 acre grassland meadow and has just six tent pitches, two furnished bell tents, a restored Norfolk shepherd's hut and our locally made living van.
It is really important to us that we look after our environment and the farm is managed with a light touch. The campsite is off grid and we are continually experimenting with alternative technology to create sustainable and comfortable facilities. One of our favourite things is chatting to our guests about new ways of using the rocket stove, or explaining the way that the solar panels work.
Our aim is to improve the diversity of the meadow and other grassland areas around the farm so that it is a valuable home to wildlife. The meadow is very much a shared space with our local barn owl, kestrels, buzzards, hares and butterflies. We want your stay to be an escape surrounded by nature.
We look forward to welcoming you to our farm!
