We made a wrong decision to stay there by looking at the photos and the reviews in general. In hindsight, I should have paid more attention to the negative reviews because they turned out to be consistent with my experience. Several things are worth mentioning. (1) The manager is a sweetheart - friendly, professional and helpful in giving us tips for visiting Oxford. But she insisted that we can't shorten the stay and get partial refund. This turned out to be false because the policy listed says early departure is allowed with refund. I should have checked the policy in the airbnb listing - my bad! (2) They had 4 routers but none works well in most parts of room #4. They had a router is the office but the walls are thick and blocked the signal. They should have a router in the room. I was told by a staff member that the owner never did anything to respond to prior complains about WIFI. (3) The actual room condition does not look like the photos in the reservation, for both room and bath, at least for room #4 where we stayed. (4) The whole place gave me the impression that the owner did not want to spend money in furniture and overall condition to deserve a 4 star rating. The bathroom floor was plastic, carpet trimming did not look like being done by professional. Wall had cracks in many places in room 4. Arm chair was full of cracks and disgusting. Wall paint looked like 10 year old. (5) Breakfast was descent. (6) Location was great - only £5 taxi to Oxford down town. (7) Free parking inside property. (8) Shower did not have much pressure. (9) Did not specify the town name Headington, so the car's GPS took us to another London street in Oxford. When I arrived at B&B, the staff told me that many customers had the same problem before. But why she did not mention that to me when I got loss and called the B&B? When I called the owner to complain, she told me that the problem was the GPS, not that the town's name being missing in the listing. (8) Jenny was nice enough to offer me £40 back. (9) Agsin the manager Zoe and the breakfast staff derserved a huge thumbs up! (10) If the rating was listed as a 2 star or 3 star, and the pictures in the reservation look like the actual, I would not have a high expectation and would not have booked the place. My son and I would not want to stay in another B&B any more.
