The big massage chair is great. I will really miss it. Amecus also had the largest TV I have ever seen in person. I really enjoyed staying here, meeting a lot of interesting people as well as meeting Jack and Chrissy, Amecus' goats.

Go down the rabbit hole! Staying with Amecus was a great value and lead to adventures and meeting other folks (travelers and locals) who really enhanced my short time in ABQ. The room was comfortable and the kitchen was bright and welcoming. I loved Jack the goat (friendly and didn't smell as far as I could tell!). The pro-grade massage chair was a bonus. Amecus was a friendly, attentive, and open host who shared a slice of her world with us guests. So grateful for that. This stay was a gem of an experience. Be open and adventurous -- this is not a hotel! The place was cozy overall and cleanliness is on the level of going to a friend's house. I would stay again surely and I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for alternatives to hostels and/or alternative experiences.

A great place to stay while I was in Albuquerque for the week - Amecus was a great host, very communicative and accommodating. The room and house were full of great art, and the animals were cute and friendly! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great location and value during your Abq trip.

Very dirty home! No towels and none of the stuff she mentioned in the listing. The sheets were dirty with hair from ALL parts of the body, dirt, stains, etc... There were roaches in the bedroom and in the tub. No cold water in the sink so you have to wash your face with scalding hot water or with the roaches in the tub. No AC so it was hotter in the room than outside. Then, when you open the window, her goat sticks its head in the window right over the bed. I love animals but that is too close to comfort. She was very curt, rude, and even condescending. I asked for a second pillow and she never brought it. I asked to turn on the AC and her response was that "it would cool down at night but that it was Albuquerque so maybe not." I asked if the neighborhood was safe and she said nowhere in Albuquerque is safe (fyi not true...I have relatives that used to live there). The only thing she really did do was let me park in the drive way "if it would make me happy." Overall, the worst place I've ever stayed in my life and I seriously hope she spends a little bit of time cleaning her place and working on her attitude. I understand that this may be an important source of income for her and I hate complaining about stuff but this was absolutely ridiculous!

Svetlana arrived in a VERY BAD MOOD and it colored her experience. Her quotes and descriptions are so inaccurate it is too ridiculous to provide a response. If it were true, she could have left and received a refund from airbnb, she did not, but stayed and then tried (unsuccessfully) to get money a few days later so this is a revenge review. I certainly didn't hide massage chairs, theatre, towels, or other amenities or turn off the cold water in the sink. Why she rented a place that clearly advertises goats and then got upset about my enthusiastically friendly goats is bizarre! The driveway is reserved for long-term guests. I did let her park in the driveway as my long term guest was out camping. Mean to other guests and had HORRIBLE energy! I had to sage the room to clear out the bad energy.

Ten years ago, I nearly died, 9 times. I lived (obviously I am not speaking through the grave), not everyone did. For someone who catches a mere cold only once every 7 years, the 2 year recovery to do basic things like drive a car, plan a meal or sleep, was world shattering. Besides losing my spectacular health, I lost my career and harmed or maimed important relationships, some irreparably. Previous to the experience, I held no debt. After paying medical bills (the largest bills I have ever experienced) I decided, to buy a house for the same amount I spent on the bills and create a healing place so I can rebuild resilient health. I spent a year with the initial remodel of the house but it is an ongoing endeavor.

Initially I rented rooms to graduate students and it shows. Lots of reading nooks and desks. I started with airbnb in June 2013 and it has been a great success. I would like to offer the opportunity to stay at my home to people interested. I intend to eventually be a therapeutic foster parent for teens. When this works out, the house will no longer be available. I set up a : ) BOOpage called Albuquerque Micro-Farm, where you see more pictures, and experience the labyrinth, and small videos of the animals.

I am a TEDhead, Life-hacker, U.S. Soldier, Vegetarian, Researcher, Artist, Permaculture Enthusiast, Psychology/Social Work Student. I believe in and constantly strive for resilient health. I've can't resist a dance flash mob :) A 'Foodie', yes I take pictures of food, often.

FAVS: Movie: The Wizard of Oz/currently, The Wolverine; Book: The Velveteen Rabbit, and whatever Malcolm Gladwell recently wrote; Music: Lead Me On (Amy Grant), club remixes of pop songs, Super Mashups; Food: Pizza; Destination: My Hammock (w' book); Show: currently, The Fosters, generally The Colbert Report.

I have many life mottos:
If it doesn't move you, whats the point.
No matter how trustworthy he seams, never give your gun to a monkey.
You can never trust quotes on the internet- Abraham Lincoln.
If life gives you Melons, you may be dyslexic.
At the end of the day, the issue is always, the person in the mirror.
What doesn't kill you...Will really F*** you up!
Never Drink and Derive.
If you think you can, or if you think you can't, you are correct; Choose wisely.
Should I go this way or that way? Well it depends on where you want to end up.
