Long changed my booking to a different location nearby on the morning of check in - supposedly an upgrade although my original room seemed better. The reason was that construction next door to the original space would be very disruptive & the alternative would be a far better experience. After further enquiry, I was offered the option to go with the original space if I liked but could still change to the other space if I liked. It seemed like a genuine scenario, so I went with the new space. It's quite big, on 7th floor, with elevator. Bright and everything you need. There's a water cooler machine - nice touch but remember to actually switch it on if you want cold water!
Long speaks excellent English and was very personable and happy to provide useful advice re Hanoi. A free laundry service is provided, another welcome perk.
NB the property entrance is shuttered in the evening - I came back after 10 in the evening & took a while locating it. It's opposite a wine bar so I rang a bell near where I though it was ; the shutter opened & a man inside greeted me - it seems the property is staffed 24 hours a day.
I spent most of my 36 hours in Hanoi near the Old Quater - it's a 20 minute taxi ride from the property, not much more than one Euro.
Hanoi is wonderful. Enjoy :)
