Come to experience the slow life and get up each morning with no agenda and be prepared for the unexpected. Spot the Malabar squirrel which has made the shola forest its home, the bison/Indian gaur herd which might show up outside your window or try and identify the moths before the bulbuls pick them off the exposed brick walls for breakfast.
Watch the mist roll in and transform the multi hued landscape to one that’s a study in shades of grey. Star gazing on a clear summer’s night or curling up with a book and a drink by a crackling wood fire in winter are experiences Welaro can offer you.
For the artistically inclined there’s plenty of inspiration around. Close to the bungalow is a stream and a spring from which we get our water supply and there are short walks and treks which can be organized to experience the fabulous landscape of tea and shola forests. The diversity of butterflies and moths in the Lamb’s Rock area will be a treat for a lepidopterist.
Your vacation home is a spacious and tastefully done bungalow with three bedrooms with attached baths. Great views all around and large windows to soak in the scenes. A fire place in the living room for those chilly evenings, Wifi and television! A well equipped kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, gas hob, cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery to prepare simple meals.
If the three bedrooms are booked by a single group, the whole house is accessible. However should only one bedroom be booked then you have access to the living space, kitchen and the garden besides your bedroom.
You are welcome to take a walk around our tea gardens which encircle the property.
Общение с гостями
We live on the property (in a separate house, so you have your privacy) and we also have caretakers so we're pretty much a call away if you need anything. We are usually up for some chai and conversation and or you could perhaps join us for a round of golf in Wellington Gymkhana or create a small fiber book using techniques of embroidery and natural dyeing.
If your stay coincides with the plucking rounds then you can try your hand at plucking tea and a visit to a tea factory can be organized.

We are located 7 kilometers from town so it would be a good idea to have your own means of transportation. Alternatively we can arrange for a taxi. You'll need to head into town for supplies (we could stock up the pantry with basic supplies on request) or if you wish to dine-out.
Our property is adjacent to a forest and we advise our guests not to venture out on foot after dark.
We advise guests to refrain from smoking in the house. Cigarettes should be put out and disposed with care to avoid any fire related accidents
We expect the guests to keep the house clean and tidy. We strive to be environmentally friendly therefore we request our guests to segregate dry and wet waste.
We are a textile designer and a retired MNC professional couple who decided to take off from the city and live amidst nature. Welaro is the place we call home (and hope you will too!) where we reside with a couple of dogs and cats. We grow our own vegetables and are trying our hand at rearing chickens with the help of the caretakers.
Easy going people, hosting in a chilled out home!
