A piece of History in Time, this Inca store house is a place for artists, garden lovers and people of all types who enjoy nature or history. With flowers and fruit trees everywhere, we are home to hummingbirds and a cute little sheep called Bubble. A couple of blocks from the main square and a 10 minutes walk from the train station and ruins.

Definitely the best place we stayed on our tour through the sacred valley. Our only disappointment was that we booked just one night here. This compound takes up a full block of ollantaytambo, hidden behind ancient stone walls and nestled into the best part of town. It's less than five minutes by foot up from the plaza de armas (town center) and located just beneath incredible ruins that are viewable from multiple vantage points throughout the property. The space is perfectly rustic, private and accessible via a cobblestone street that is only wide enough for people. The absence of cars made for a super quiet retreat. The rooms have private entrances from an outdoor terrace, comfortable beds (a rarity here) and loads of charm (white, sparse, high ceilings, wooden beams and old wooden floors). The shared bathroom downstairs was never once in use when we needed it and we enjoyed bumping into fellow travelers in the shared kitchen. The yard and garden area is immense. There's a fire pit, hammock, local herbs for picking, a pet sheep and tons of space to read and write. Nicole was incredibly welcoming and her kids added loads of charm. Get a room here before it books up months in advance. Incredible value for the price.
Incredible compound in a magical setting. Photos don't do the place justice. Rooms are private, big and extremely comfortable. The vibe is so so good and the hosts are top notch. Marta cooked us a delicious breakfast and we had no idea this was included in our stay! Rooms are accessible via their own outdoor entrances, so while the listing says shared, this isn't really the case. It's far more private than anticipated. We didn't mind the shared bathrooms as each one had a shower with ample hot water. Good luck gathering the motivation to leave and explore. We were so comfortable relaxing in the garden and could have easily dreamed away for days. A plus!
This was my best airbnb experience to date, and I've had some pretty good ones, so that's saying something! The house is absolutely magical. As soon as you walk in the door to the courtyard you feel like you've stepped back in time. The rooms and architecture are beautiful, with gorgeous beamed ceilings. The garden is a true sanctuary, overflowing with delicious fruit, useful herbs, and a very playful sheep. We loved lounging around outside, surrounded by flowers, with the mountains and ruins in the background. We loved looking out from our windows onto the cobblestone streets of Ollantaytambo and falling asleep to the sound of the ingeniously-diverted river that runs through the town. Best of all is Martha, who runs the house for Bill and Nic. She is so lovely and helpful. Her advice, care, and friendly conversation made our stay in town so special. The house is perfect for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, a cozy base exploring the sacred valley, or even a spot for a destination wedding (it definitely crossed our minds...). We were on the fence about whether or not to visit Ollantaytambo, and I can say without a doubt that it was one of the highlights of our trip. Make sure you book for at least two nights. You'll want as much time as possible at this incredible hidden treasure!
Lots of space to find privacy in the garden. Hang in the hammocks, chill at the fire ring, cook in the shared kitchen and enjoy hot showers in the clean bathrooms. You will have a simple but private room all to your self.

Ollanta has very bad internet connection.Which leaves you with plenty of time to see the natural beauty here.
When you arrive in the plaza de arms de Ollanta, look for the ATM machine that is kitty corner from the restaurant LA ESQUINA, You will go up that street to the right of the machine for 3-4 blocks. Our house is the block after the Awamaki store. Once you pass the block that store is on you make your first right and knock on the blue doors.
Do not use the airbnb map, it is WRONG. They will not let us change it.
We are on Calle Horno and Calle de la Moza. Look on Bill and Nic's House on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) to see pictures of the door.

We moved to Peru with the desire to help in a third world country. We were complete volunteers for seven years. We both worked in schools for the poor. We arrived with minimal Spanish and a one year old. I would have to say we have come a long way since then. Not only are we fluent in Spanish but Bill has picked up Quechua from the locals he worked with in Andahuaylillas. Although we spent most of our time helping the poor we also took out time to search out some of the best single track, sweet day hikes, good camping spots and do the big treks around here. We love adventure and family which is why we do lots of family adventures.
We are both from Buffalo, NY but moved to Durango Colorado after we got married. We now live in the city center of Cusco Peru, ten minutes walking to the Plaza de Armas. We have decided to offer travelers a nice, safe, and relaxed stay in our house during their time here. After hearing about Airbnb from a friend, we thought it would be great to offer some of our extra rooms to the traveler who tires of cheap hotels and rowdy hostels. You should feel free to have a nice, safe, and relaxed stay in our house during your time here. We know the area, have done the trips, and know the best ways to enjoy Cusco, and its wonders. Plus we can help you do some off the beaten path stuff if you'd like. You'll be happy you stayed with us. Families are welcome!
