Hosts were very easy to communicate with, responded quickly to concerns and questions. The cottage was clean and welcoming, we felt right at home.
The living room has a beautiful new, large leather couch with lots of little lamps everywhere, giving a very cool atmosphere. Nice furniture, beautiful bookcase.
No TV or wifi and cell phone reception was mostly poor on Rogers.
The cottage is in a quiet area, directly on a lake. The lake itself has a sandy bottom, and is perfect for young kids or just lounging, as it was about thigh deep for a good thirty feet out, and all along the shoreline. Rooms were nice and clean, although one of them was pretty firm and squeaky.
The outdoor living space is very comfortable, sitting area directly on the deck on the water, another one halfway up to the cottage and two at the back of the house, one outside and the other on a screened porch. Only caveat about the stairs leading to the water is everybody had a couple splinters, so consider wearing shoes when you go down and watch your hands.
There is a wood-burning stove outside with chairs set up; we would have preferred a campfire, but there are no fires allowed in the area, so it is understandable.
The road leading away from the main road ends at about 2.5 km, so it's a perfect 5 km run there and back for interested joggers, quick workout and then you can jump in the lake!
There is a corner store about a 15 min drive away which is extremely well stocked, with a liquor store as well in case you need it.
We also went to Villa Basque, which is about a twenty minute drive away, $5 per person gets you entry on site, which is a nice beachfront, although with many seadoos parked blocking the view to the beautiful landscape - still worth it for $5 each.
Don't panic when you see the vintage coffee maker, it actually brews great coffee when you figure it out!
All in all, a nice getaway, very relaxing, would recommend.
