Great one-bedroom, ground-floor apartment in the heart of super-cool Brunswick, just 6km from the city, and walking distance to all the best bars and restaurants in Brunswick and Brunswick East. Live like a local & be immersed in the Melbourne vibe!
Please contact me BEFORE requesting to book :)
I will preference longer bookings, but I'm open to being convinced!
This is a ground-floor apartment in a small block of 8, just set back from the road. My neighbours are all pretty quiet, but during the day you can expect some incidental city-type noise. The place consists of an open-plan living room/kitchen, one bedroom and one bathroom with bath/shower, toilet, washer and dryer.
The whole apartment will be yours, along with my car park (although there are only 7 car parks for 8 apartments, so this is subject to my neighbours still not all having cars!)
The bathroom/laundry has a washer and dryer which you are free to use, but please be mindful of energy use and consider drying your clothes on the rack provided instead, when possible. Yay planet! :)
The couch in the lounge room is quite small, not super comfortable (to be completely honest) and does not fold out! For this reason I do NOT recommend sleeping on it - if there are two guests they will both need to be in the Queen-sized bed.
Общение с гостями
I will be traveling for the duration of your stay, but will be checking my emails, so I should be able to help you if you have any problems. I will be more than happy to give you a hand with recommendations or anything else before your stay, as I have lived in Melbourne my whole life and LOVE it here.
Apart from picking up the keys, you will have complete privacy - although depending on the dates of the stay we may need to negotiate some additional responsibilities (such as tidying up, bringing in my mail, and allowing landlord access) - but this will be minimal. As this is a rental property, I ask you to keep the Airbnb controversy to a minimum and inform anyone who may ask that you are a friend of mine and you are housesitting while I am away. I am not making a profit from this listing :)
Другие важные подробности
This is my personal apartment, not an investment property constantly listed on Airbnb! This means that it's a quirky little apartment filled with things that are of interest to me. Anything that I leave in the apartment is yours to use, but please be respectful of my possessions (books, DVDs, kitchenware), and do NOT remove from the apartment.
Unfortunately there is no heating in the apartment, other than a portable column heater. Please be mindful of energy use and pop on an extra layer of clothing before switching on the heating:) please do NOT run the heating all night!
The hot water tank is a standard 50 litre, and will last for a 5-7 minute shower. It should heat up again after 15 or 20 minutes.
I will be giving preference to long-term bookings of 2 weeks or more, so please contact me with an introduction so we can discuss your needs!
- Please keep noise to a minimum after 10pm
- This is my home, and not an apartment that I rent out all of the time. I ask you to kindly take in my mail for me. If asked by my neighbours, I ask you to please tell them you are a friend who is housesitting :)
- Please think about the environment while you're in my apartment! Electricity and water cost money AND the planet. I ask you to please turn the heating off once you are in bed unless it is absolutely necessary (electricity is metered in real time)
-Turn heating off when you leave the apartment.
- Stealing is bad karma. Feel free to use my belongings but please don't remove them
I love live music and festivals or TV and books, the outdoors and the indoors, travel and sitting at home. Wherever I am, I hope there's cheese.
My favourite places are in Eastern Europe or close to home in Australia.
When I travel I like to have breakfast at home, lunch in a park, and dinner at a pub or low-key local restaurant. A few museums here and there, and loads of walking around finding the cool views or a place for a peaceful day-drink. And fountains. There'd better be fountains.
Not into fancy hotels, but too old to rough it like I used to;)
