Although Massimiliano responded quickly to emails, we never actually met him, as he was sick during our stay. We did meet his Aunt Anna, however. She met us upon our arrival to provide us with keys. When we arrived however, the apartment had not yet been cleaned (no fresh linen, no fresh towels, dirty bathroom, etc.). We thus had to leave the apartment to allow Anna to clean it. Even when we returned that evening however, there were still dead bugs on the windowsill and trash and dirt under the bed. Additionally, in the middle of our stay, we realized that the pipes below the sink were broken/disconnected. Thus, water had accumulated on the floor from us using the sink. We emailed Massimiliano who had Anna and a young man come later that morning to fix the sink. While they taped the pipes enough to allow us to use the sink, we were still unable to use the dishwasher or the washing machine for fear of flooding the apartment, as they both drained through the pipes under the sink. Additionally, the cooktop was broken and not repairable during our time there. Anna provided us with a portable cook top, yet the plug to it did not fit in any of the outlets! In fact, none of the provided appliances (tea kettle, hair dryer, etc.) fit into any of the outlets! Luckily, we had our own adaptor and could thus cook on the floor (no outlets in the kitchen either!). Although Anna was very remiss about how none of the kitchen was usable and did everything within her power to make our stay better, we were disappointed with the quality of the apartment.
