Our home was built in 1923, and renovated top to bottom in 2010. We worked with architect Steve Perce of BLDG Collective to open and expand the floor plan, and to make a true indoor / outdoor, family friendly space that is bright, modern, clean, and comfortable. Our home was recently featured in a local design magazine, for a story titled "Great Spaces."
The center of the house is the kitchen / living area, which has huge sliding patio doors open to a large, grassy backyard complete with dining patio, gas grill, and lounge chairs beneath tall maples that provide shade in the summer. The covered front porch is a great place to sit and have a cold drink in the evening. Hardwood floors, Carrara marble, and original artwork are throughout the 3000 square foot space.
The house was designed and built for our family of four, with occasional visits from friends and parents. Upstairs, two kids rooms with a twin bed each share Jack + Jill style bathroom. Three joined wooden doors from the original 1923 house provide privacy for the master suite, (also upstairs) which has a king bed, and a spectacular 12' wide, floor to ceiling window that looks out at leaves, sky, and the sunrise. The master bath has dual sinks with Carrara marble, a glassed in thermostatic rainshower, and a Duravit soaking tub also with a leafy window view. There is a roof mounted, ducted swamp cooler that brings fresh, cool air to each of the three upstairs bedrooms on warmer evenings.
In the basement, there is wall-to-wall carpet and a kids' playroom with two more twin beds. The basement is quiet and cool in the summer. We have an Apple TV connected to a video projector for watching movies. Our guests that stay in the basement use the full bath on the main floor.
The house is a beautiful 5 minute walk from Downtown Boulder, and the shops and restaurants of Pearl Street. Our neighborhood is very walkable, with sidewalks, gardens, historic homes, and tall, beautiful trees. We also have bicycles in our bike shed to get you around town via the world class network dedicated bike lanes and paths. There is a public pool (Spruce Pool) two blocks away, which is a great place to take kids on hot days.
If you want to spend time in Boulder hiking, riding, walking, lounging, and eating delicious food, you can do it all from here, without any need for a car.
We have a range of townie bikes located in the shed for kids and adults, complete with cable locks, (4) helmets, and lights for getting around town. You are welcome to use whatever bikes are there. Please always wear a helmet, ride responsibly, and lock the bikes securely.

As much as needed to make their stay enjoyable. We are available by phone, text, or email anytime.
We have a no-shoe rule in the house, and leave them by the front or back doors. No smoking, no pets. We also keep all food on the main floor, and don't take it upstairs or into the basement. Please try to park either in the driveway, without blocking the sidewalk, or directly in front of the house. We also keep doors locked when we leave.
