In the heart of Melbourne's cosmopolitan central city, this apartment is in one of the most well-respected buildings in town. Designed by Nonda Katsalidis, the Hero apartments are a stunning makeover of a classic 60s modernist office block. You'll enjoy the fantastic city views from the comfort of your own balcony or the living room.
Check in is 24 hours and the apartment is ideal for both leisure and business visitors. Ask me about special long term rates ;-)
Treat yourself to a stay in a real home in Melbourne's central city, rather than be disillusioned by staying in one of the many bland cookie cutter boxes run by commercial agents that masquerade as an Airbnb apartment.
Bacchus was fully renovated in 2016, with top quality furniture and fittings, giving you a sophisticated home away from home. From the moment you step inside onto the plush pure wool carpet, you can relax in your own city refuge. Are you interested in architecture? The Hero apartments are featured in this video ... (see emailed Guide - Airbnb does not allow us to exchange web addresses).
In Melbourne for work? The apartment is very close to the eastern end of Collins Street, famous for its collection of high-end corporates and consultancies in the towers above the global fashion boutiques. If that's not your thing, the more eclectic fashion trade does a roaring business along Little Collins Street, while a few steps away Melbourne's Chinatown (increasingly pan-Asian) offers an amazing variety of restaurant options. Being Melbourne, you are never more than a minute or two from a great cafe or bar.
The internet has no data limit and there is a subscription to Netflix.
All of this ... but also this apartment building has strong green credentials, with solar power for all public lighting and a worm farm to compost all green waste. All paper and plastic are recycled.
City living not quite your ideal? Please see my other listing in funky Fitzroy.
The whole apartment is yours. Although listed as one bedroom, there is also a second area at the entry to the apartment that has another bed and is a comfortable place to relax ... so you get two separate living areas ... three if you count the long balcony, with its great views over Melbourne's booming city core.

I've lived in Melbourne all my life - well, almost. I recently finished studying for a doctorate in urban planning and am taking some time out to go travelling (again). Since I've had such great experiences with AirBnB, I thought it was only natural that I list my home for visitors to Melbourne.
Melbourne is about many things, but one is coffee. Fitzroy is swimming in good caffeine. And food for that matter - any number of cuisines are available nearby. I love coming home here, and can't imagine living anywhere else.
