Located in a pristine part of the Atherton Tablelands, ‘Feathers at Frogmore’ provides absolute privacy, peace and quiet. Enjoy this rare opportunity to stay in a unique off-grid dwelling and relax in complete seclusion with a stunning waterfall and river.
‘Feathers at Frogmore’ is a two storey dwelling with an unusual design and features beautiful natural hardwood timber throughout. The house is ideal for families or groups. The house can sleep up to 11 people. There are two upstairs bedrooms, each opening onto its own balcony. “The River Room” has a stunning view through French doors onto the balcony, overlooking the rainforest that fringes the Beatrice River and the mist-enshrouded World Heritage mountains beyond. It has a queen bed and a single bed, as well as another single bed in a very large adjoining walk-in-robe, plus a spare single foam mattress that can be used on the floor if necessary. “The Reef Room” looks out on the tree-ferns and rainforest surrounding the house. It has a queen bed and 2 single bunk-beds and is decorated with a tropical reef theme. Downstairs, a sofa in the sitting-room can be converted to a double bed.

Unfortunately there is no-one on-site to welcome you or show you around the property, as we live in southern Queensland. Mobile phone coverage is also very unreliable and mostly non-existent at the house. Please consider these factors and whether you will be comfortable staying in a relatively isolated location in the rainforest.

Please note that the Old Palmerston Highway between Millaa Millaa and Ravenshoe is a narrow, winding road that is unsuitable for caravans. However it is bitumen throughout and we believe it is one of the most scenic roads on the Atherton Tablelands, so definitely worth the drive!
Although the road is bitumen right up to the front gate, a high clearance vehicle is required and preferably a 4WD, as the 800m driveway is quite steep in places and during wet weather can be slippery and potentially inaccessible.
With almost 40 years combined experience working in botany/ecology and environmental fields, we are passionate about the natural world. We hope you will enjoy this beautiful part of the world as much as we do and have the opportunity to meet some of the unique local wildlife, which include many rare and endangered species.
