A block of 21 units looking onto a whimsical green courtyard to relax. It is located on a busy arterial road close to everything N2 , town , the beaches but has some traffic noise in the day which has double glaze and we're on the first floor but still has a urban feel.
There's a secure garage parking space below with tandem bay behind on remote control that is safe and patrolled. The My citi bus stop is 100m away from the front door and comes every 20 mins to all central locations. V & A and CBD. We can offer a basic retro bike to ride around the promenade.

It has the feeling of a home. I have renovated a post war apartment with that holds character and modern convenience. Original wooden floors, lead pane windows and carefully sourced retro light fittings set the scene.
Nautical frosted back lit glass, stainless steel and cherry wood fitted kitchen melds into the living areas creating a versatile space for entertaining, relaxing or cooking up a delectable storm.
There is planned storage and lighting.
Flexible living and attention to intimate detail reminisce of inner city Europe.The small sea view is framed with trees . This snippet allows to experience the the boats moving into harbour, sea colours that change daily and full gorgeous sunset skies of the Atlantic Seaboard.
The lounge has a comfortable seating and lighting.
The dining area can be a great place to set up a office - a long multi-functional oregon table and chairs all selected antique retro pieces from captains chair to kartell plaited chairs.
The kitchen behind it is designed by a swiss company in nautical cherry wood is well organised with every modern feature, cooking island or artisanal pursuits. Its' fully kitted out with microwave, juicer and a stove-top coffee maker with some varied crockery sets and good wine glasses to choose from.
The master bedroom has a large, organised & integrated cupboard space. The bedrooms have a quality double bed, with locally produced high thread count linen.
The bathroom is inspired by the Edwarian times pedestal, Hansgrohe rain dance shower for a good start to the day, large bath with romantic lighting options for the eve. Plenty of plug points for looking good with lights for make-up & hair and a carefull shave.
The flat has all you need in : Average size Channel TV, (DSTV) DVD, dishwasher, washing machine-dryer, microwave & uncapped internet on broad band at 4-6mpb which can be upgraded with 10 days notice to effect.

The apartment aesthetics :
I explored woods, metals in furniture, lead windows, copper lights and fittings.. Contains a mix of new and nautical and 1950s' ornaments and furniture. Some textiles are from my travels and Basotho blankets with virgin lambswool each with its own story & symbols.
It has it's own quirks being old, with a few nicks and odd door handles, sometimes gathers a bit of use or dust if you do not have a regular domestic service but carries the charm with all the modern conveniences provided in full.
North facing and sunfilled throughout overlooking gardens.
New cotton linens, framed sea views and leafy roman garden courtyard. It has quick access to all major transport routes, beaches and restaurants makes it the perfect base for cape town.

A warm and welcoming born and breed Capetonian I have all the inside information to make a great trip...! I will greet you and be happy to assist.There are abundance of fantastic restaurants in and around Cape Town and some of the best ones are with walking distance of our home away from home. We do however warn you to be vigilant and as in any major city to watch your personal belongings when out and about. MOST OF ALL HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THE SIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF CAPE TOWN.

Seapoint has a city and has a metropolis feel to it. The apartment is located near the end of a busy road to seapoint which makes it easy to get around, with quick access to highways but can be noisy from time to time. We do have a double glaze sound specified windows that relaxes the sound considerably if ALL the WINDOWS are closed its quiet, but if your wanting a retreat space and we have a clangy gate entrance at times this isn't for you. Guest have found the first couple of days it takes a adjust but then the really love being there and often extend. If you love the cityliving and the sea then this will have all you need.
Unfortunately there is to be NO smoking whatsoever on the property or in the communal areas. We ask that you kindly respect this and its the bodycorporate clear wishes and regulated with fines. We ask you kindly to respect these wishes.Outside at the end of the steps near the road is allowed and typically used.
Being a old dame and having a world charm , most nicks are sorted and modern conveniences in place but we do have a few nigglies that come with the space you should know about.
It also has annoying lock to the door at the moment which is a bit tight but beautifully original. The wooden floors are original and have some markings and cracks here & there as part of the battina.
The electricity is as you walk in the entrance way which I replenish.
The bath in keeping with green practice is gravity fed and does take a few minutes to fill with good temperature and we've fitted a spot heater in the kitchen for your convenience that one can adjust if needs be to suit you.
The geyser allows for very long shower or a bath, with hair shaving etc or alternatively if there is a large group 3 quick showers but no more at one time or the water will grow cold.
The guest house is typically serviced once a week midweek tuesday around lunch time - our staff cleans all rooms and provides laundry service only on those days unless otherwise agreed. The service is the basics of changing linen with dusting and not a full service, regular upkeep is yours unless arranged which we will be happy to do with our team.
There is a washing machine-dryer and we expect guests to respect the fact that is not a hotel but a self-catering guest house e.g. no turn down service but will be done once a week only.

It is the guests responsibility to respond to our reservation confirmation with flight details and approximate arrival time. Please be as accurate as possible with flight times and whether they are internal or international.
Checkin can be arranged preferably before 9pm nd check-out before 10am unless otherwise arranged. Please also remember to SMS/email/phone when you land at the airport so that we are able to welcome you at the premises on time.
The people in the apartment block are relaxed and easy going but do adhere to a no smoking policy. Its' wonderfull for them to have guest but also to share their regular space which we ask to be respected.
The area is safe and patrolled frequently and you can call them but we have had no enquiries to date. We have a good diverse neighbourhood you can watch walk by and a strong jewish community that stroll to temple
Everything that makes seapoint great is the diversity and city feel. It is located on the end of a robust street during the day with traffic noise which makes entering the road timing important but does offer a tranquil courtyard to retreat to once in the flat.
The garage outside has a remote control and can fit one sedan but no high cars like land rovers. It has space for bikes but also carries excess funriture in the back. About a 20 m walk to th estair entrance its easy and then a The flats on the first floor and you go up a flight of stairs to get there, turn to your left under the archways and you'll find number 1 St. Claire.
Unfortunately smoking in public spaces is illegal in this country and strictly monitored by our bodycorp. The body corp does not accept it and I ask too that smoking does not happen in the flat. We have a great long set of terracotta stairs outside which you can use away from the entrance gate and need to ask you to please clean up what you use consciously.
Please take precious care with the antiques & treasures its been a curation thats' unfolded and its a special place we'd like to keep unique.
All chairs are not to be rocked and are all collectors items. Any damages will come off the deposit. Their is a manual and inventory of the story of the apartments furniture and also its price list. Please aquaint yourself with this.
The kitchen needs to stay loved & pristine, the cherrywood is now rare has come along way to be here almost unavailable today.
Enjoy yourself relax but please please don't smoke inside at All. There is a large courtyard and great deep denim armchair outside to relax, with ashtray and the wi-fi is accessible there. Please Be nice to the neighbours, we like them and they really like us lets keep it that way !
The rest : We don't have any super strict house rules and want our guests to enjoy themselves. At the same time, we assume common sense in the behaviour of our guests and respect for our property designed and decorated with lots of love and at a considerable expense and time.
Unfortunately, for legal/insurance reason we need to inform you of a couple of important issues. The following should be read & understand/adhered to by all of our guests:
1) House manual available in the guest house and in the main house with information about the house, house rules and tips and recommendations for Seapoint and Cape Town
2) Any Signs around the property please read.
3) Use of wifi/Internet at no extra cost. There is regular ADSL broadband with wifi on high speed which can fluctuate. The use of Internet web sites and the Internet connection is at the responsibility of the actual user. Use of illegal sites is prohibited as well as mass-emailing. Please make enquiries should this affect your business use but we do not take responsabilty for this.
4) Kids and additional guests are not permitted unless expressed in writing or paid for upfront on air bnb or with the owner.
5) No big partying and excessive use of alcohol permitted. Please respect other guests and neighbours.
The by-laws of the City of Cape Town and South Africa must be followed (search them on the Internet if not sure). Any mis-use of alcohol or the use or carrying of drugs will be prosecuted under South African law.
6) Parking is in our closed garage and remeote for small cars- big 4x4 with high roofs sadly don't fit into the 18th century old dame.
tandem parking behind it or on the street is at your own risk outside the property.The garage we have not had a issue with. If you park in tandem and anywhere in the country don't leave valuables visible inside your car.
8) Use the provided keys to lock the main doors and gates of the property at all times. Make sure the locks are turned at least once to close properly. It is your responsibility to assure they are locked at all times. Do not lose keys and in case of loss notify us immediately.
9) No pets allowed. No smoking allowed inside the house, and in the alcoves or patios. Only smoking permitted on the deck, stairs and courtyard,please use ash trays.
10) Kindly note that the South African Department of Home Affairs has implemented new rules with the Immigration Amendment Acts of 2007 and of 2011 (implemented in 2014) which requires guest houses to keep records of their foreign guests / tenants, including passport and visa copy, and full home address, for 2 years. Kindly email us a copy of your passport prior arrival as well as your full foreign address so we can comply with these new requirements.
