Quince Cottage is a cosy Cotswold stone cottage situated in a quiet residential road, 5 minutes walk from the centre of the friendly town of Nailsworth, which has independent shops, cafes, an artisan bakery, a delicatessen, pubs, wine and tapas bar, restaurants and supermarkets.
Quince Cottage has been modernised to incorporate contemporary design whilst retaining original character features including an original flagstone floor, exposed stone walls, oak beams, low ceilings downstairs - beware the doorway to the kitchen is particularly low -and an inglenook fireplace with a log burner (one basket of logs supplied per booking) and gas central heating. There are new carpets throughout. The Cottage dates from the 18th century and is situated in Park Road, close to the centre of the thriving town of Nailsworth with independent shops, supermarkets, cafes, pubs, a wine/tapas bar and restaurants. A two minute walk from the cottage is ‘The Village', a dog friendly pub which sells real ales brewed in its micro brewery. At the bottom of the road, there is a park with a young children's play area, outdoor games equipment, a football pitch and newly refurbished public tennis courts. There are views from the upstairs of the cottage across to the nearby National Trust commons of Minchinhampton and Selsley. The lovely countryside offers excellent walks and bike riding, including along the disused railway line to Stroud. The lounge/dining room has lots of character with an inglenook fireplace with cast iron log burning stove, and exposed ceiling beams. The room features an original flagstone floor; with a rug to keep your toes cosy! There is comfortable seating for up to six people, with two two-seater sofas (one of which is a sofa bed should it be needed). There is an oak dining table which seats six adjacent to the fireplace. The TV incorporates a radio and DVD player and free Wifi is available. There is a selection of books for adults and children to enjoy if the weather unfortunately keeps you indoors.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge with freezer section, dishwasher, a cafetiere, a juicer, a microwave oven, and four burner gas hob and oven.
A door opens from the kitchen to the utility / boot room, where you will find a washing machine, utility sink to wash those muddy boot (or paws!), downstairs loo; and door to the private sunny courtyard & grass beyond (see note below about external access to the garden).
The stairs to the bedrooms are off the living room. Comfy beds are made up with quality white bedlinen, and towels are provided. Please note the stairs are a little narrow and steep, so may not be suitable for the very young or elderly or infirm.
There is off road parking for one vehicle at the front of the cottage and free unrestricted parking in the road outside. Guests will have use of the entire property and back garden, including a table with parasol, and 6 chairs.
There is an enclosed side passageway, to the right of the front door, (which also gives access to the next door cottage). It leads to a small picket gate into the Quince Cottage back garden and shed large enough to store several bicycles (bring your own padlock). Please use this access for bicycles and dogs.

One well-behaved dog is more than welcome downstairs. I charge a Supplement of £10 and provide blankets especially for the dog, also old towels on request.
The garden provides an enclosed outside space for dogs, but note that instead of grass I have put down gravel.
Please note bedroom 2 can be made up as either one Super King bed or 2 x 3ft single beds. There is also a bed settee which sleeps two in the living room. Please advise me of your requirements when booking.

Dogs are welcome at an extra charge of £10 a night each, but please do not allow them on the furniture or on the beds. Breaking this rule could involve a cleaning charge. (I don't make a charge for cleaning the cottage)
Hi, I'm just starting out with AirBnB. I love travel and meeting new people, also jive dancing and gardening. I've lived in Nailsworth for over fifteen years so can help with recommendations for places to visit, walks, pubs and more!
My life motto is "live for today".
