The perfect writer's retreat. Quiet, charming, cozy, broad front porch, fenced backyard, historic neighborhood. Walk down town (City of Literature), to U of I, organic food coop, indy bookstore, restaurants, theatre, libraries, and live music.
Enjoy turn-of-the century, simple, rustic charm. Watch the neighbors walk by on the front porch, or sit on the patio watching the sunrise over the creek. Watch the birds, squirrels, rabbits, and even an occasional deer, raccoon or fox. The kitchen is updated (new appliances in 2015); new half-bath on first floor. The bedroom in the upper half-story is large enough for writing, reading, and simple art projects. It has it's own full bath (clawfoot tub, no shower). The basement is roughly finished with a function full bath (shower no tub) and a full bed for your overnight or weekend guest. Laundry and storage are also in the basement.
As guests, you'll have the whole house, yard and one-car garage.

Другие важные подробности
All utilities and internet are provided. I do not have cable or satellite television.
There are wood floors though out the house, making it very pet friendly.
There is a lovely baby grand piano in the downstairs. It is not a piano to "clunk around on". I would ask that only trained musicians play the piano.
All other rules seem common sense: Lock the house while you are not home. Lock the house at night. Clean what you make dirty; repair what you break.

Hi, I'm Gwendolyn. I love dogs, children, live music, stories, my family,my grandchildren and friends. My life is blessing of simplicity, which I feel is reflected in my home. I am a pilgrim. I travel light, and make friends easily. I'm a new Airbnb hostess, but have vicarious experience through my youngest daughter. My hope is that this sweet little cottage on the creek will be satisfying to you, and bring you great joy. My motto: I am in the sweet, abundant flow of the universe. Thank you, Lord.
