I was very surprised by David’s rating of my property, which contradict his own comment of his stay. The overall rating is particularly skewed by the negative reviews around Precision, Check-in, Location and Value. In response to his feedback, I would like to highlight my perspective.
The furniture is precisely what was shown on the pictures and all home appliances work well. Even though appliances are not A+++, David was not charged for the electricity bill. Besides dishwasher and oven, the kitchen was also equipped with an espresso machine and a Braun Multiquick (not mentioned in the ad). Since this is my own Summer house, a very large number of plates, glasses, etc. is available for guests.
Regarding check-in, I accommodated David’s requirements, meeting him at 10am (beyond standard check-in time). However, only after contacting him at 10:30am, did I find out that he would be arriving in the evening instead. Therefore, I went out of my way offering to leave the property opened, allowing him to access it on his arrival. Furthermore, I also traveled back from Cagliari in the evening in order to check in on David and provide information or advice. David changed his plans again on his departure date. Again, it wasn’t until I messaged him the evening before that David informed me he had decided to leave at 8am instead of 11am. Since I wasn’t able to meet him so early in the morning, I had to rush to the location immediately that evening.
As for Location and Value, my ad is very honest, describing the strenghts and weaknesses around the Village and my property. In fact, I believe what I am charging is in line with market prices in relation to the location and conditions of the villa. Besides my ad, my consideration and prompt replies to texts is a tracked record of the care and precision I have always shown towards my guests.
