We had a wonderful stay in Paris, a large part of it because of Manon. Coming off of a bike and barge tour, we were taking a train from Bordeaux to Paris. Unfortunately, our train was delayed out of the station in Bordeaux. Manon was patient and understanding. She adjusted her schedule to be there at her home when we arrived and took time to show us around the house and explain how everything worked. The setting was ideal. Restaurants, shopping, groceries, art galleries, coffee shops, metro stops and, most importantly, boulangeries were all steps away. The Seine and Notre Dame as well as the Louvre were all in walking distance. The Eiffel Tower and Moulin Rouge were short metro rides. All of those in a safe and comfortable neighborhood made for a fantastic week in Paris!
We loved staying at Manon's little house and feel it has been unfairly reviewed in the past. It is not big, but still a three storey house with two bed, two bath in central Paris. Everything worked and was clean. The location is amazing, a stones throw from the Pompidou centre. Because it is behind the street front building it was really quiet even on a Saturday night. Manon was at a wedding, so unable to meet us, but her mum Joyce was. She was able to meet us earlier than arranged and was perfectly lovely. I would definitely stay here again.
The house was charming and in a good location. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were very nice. Unfortunately the host couldn't meet us upon our arrival and arranged for someone else to do so who left us waiting for 25 minutes on the side of the road in a city we had never been to with all of our luggage and a 2 year old. I called and texted both Manon and the greeter with no answer. It was frustrating in the moment BUT Manon had been very communicative prior to our arrival. Upon entering the house, there were tons of fruit flies/gnats flying around. We were in Paris during a very very very hot couple of days and didn't realize the home didn't have any air conditioning or fans. It was incredibly hot throughout the house even with the windows open, which also allowed more bugs in and I woke up with mosquito bites all over me! Overall I would stay there again but not in the summer unless fans were provided for guest use. Manon was very pleasant to work with overall also. Thanks for sharing your home with our family during our short stay.

Thank you for your feedback Shanna. My apologize for the delay at arrival, I was on vacation and delegated to a professional and don't know why he did not open immediatly. You came during a very hot period, which is really unusual in Paris and it is the reason you got mosquitos and flies if windows were open. Very few apartments in Paris have air conditionning but I can provide fans when it is hot in the city. I'll be pleased to welcome you again some day!
After staying in dozens of Airbnb / (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) places, and having fabulous experiences with friendly hosts all over the world, we finally got a dud. I hate to say anything negative about a persons home, much less about a host. However, in the see of Manon's place, this is not her actual home and she is clearly new to Airbnb so we won't hold back. Skip to the last paragraph if you don't have time to read the whole review. We arrived in Paris after a long journey to be greeted by somebody other than our host. He was nice enough but we quickly realized that the place wasn't quite ready for us. The young man who greeted us did not have enough sets of keys for us 3 adults. We were given one complete set and some partial set. They didn't even provide toilet paper. This is a disappointment when you arrive after traveling and its late on a Sunday and you're unfamiliar with the area. Our first excursion in Paris was that of toilet paper. That's really not the spirit of Airbnb. The person who greeted us made no mention of nearby markets or useful information. The layout of the house is like 3 tiny rooms stacked on top of each other in 3 levels. Each bedroom is smaller than any basic hotel room. They have been fitted with miniature closets turned into toilets that you can barely fit in. The decorations are cute and the bedrooms could be sufficient for short term stays or for students or people who travel extremely light. We made the mistake of bringing enough clothes for our month long stay and had nowhere to put them except under the bed. There is no common space or living room. There is a very small kitchen /living room but it's so small and dank you would t want to spend any time there. The picture of the lovely terrace is actually a on enclosed space between buildings which gets bombarded with pigeon poop in a way that would make you wish for an umbrella when you arrive home. The laundry machine is very small and doesn't dry the clothes so you have to line dry them. This presents a problem for long term stays because we had to change our own sheets and the sheets would not dry in a single day on the line since there is no ventilation or breeze. When we asked our host what we could do in terms of a laundry service she shrugged and callously sent us to a dry cleaner. We hauled our sheets to the dry cleaner she recommended where they told us that they don't have a wash and fold service. Paris is a fantastic city and not the kind of holiday destination you want to spend dealing with sheets and misinformed dry cleaners! We finally found a coin-op laundry where we spent several afternoons watching the sheets go round and round. Our host did...
