The Stayokay hostels are housed in separate buildings and offer a wide variety of rooms.
Stayokay is a chain of hostels located in the most beautiful parts of the Netherlands. Stayokay is also the market leader in the Dutch group and budget accommodation sector. We aim to play a leading role in the field of budget accommodation and catering. We put our guests first and place a high priority on corporate social responsibility.
What is a hostel?
Hostels have been built in many different types of building and all offer a wide variety of rooms. Guests sleep in bunk beds or double beds, in two, four or six-person rooms or dormitories. Most rooms have their own washing facilities. Bed linen is supplied to guests on arrival, but it is expected that guests bring their own towels. Breakfast is always included in the price of a night's accommodation. Every hostel has a friendly bar, terrace and onsite restaurant. Breakfast buffets are served every morning and guests receive daytime lunch packs. Dinner consists of a three-course meal and special diets can be catered for on request, e.g. vegetarian. A characteristic of all our hostels is the cosy atmosphere and the Stayokay employees’ warm hospitality!

Custom Activities and Events
Stayokay subsidiary Stayokay Events organizes group sports activities, creative workshops, fun teambuilding exercises, imaginative meeting diversions and spectacular themed party events. For example, groups can go power kiting or rafting, follow a theatre sport workshop, or go on a photo treasure hunt through town. Nothing is impossible for us. Stayokay Events organizes activities and events that are creative, professional and affordable.
Stayokay was founded in 1929 as the Nederlandse Jeugdherberg Centrale (NJHC) [Dutch Youth Hostel Association]. In 2003, NJHC was renamed Stayokay. The first NJHC hostel was located in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel in a converted windmill. The NJHC grew rapidly becoming a large organization with almost seventy small buildings throughout the country. Renamed Stayokay, the present-day association now has 27 hostels in the Netherlands. 26 of these hostels are run by Stayokay itself and the remaining one is franchised. Hostels generate turnover to reinvest in their quality, infrastructure and employees.
