The Orange Grove is self catering accommodation situated on the East Bank of Luxor in a rural location near the Kings Island Resort. Perfect for those wanting to stay in a peaceful location yet still in close proximity to the Ancient sites.

The Orange Grove is perfect for those looking for a peaceful self catering holiday in a typical Upper Egyptian Rural community. The Orange Grove is approximately 20 minutes drive from Luxor International Airport near Kings Island (formerly Crocodile Island) on Luxor's East Bank and only 10 minutes drive from Luxor Temple. The Ancient Sites of the West Bank are a short taxi ride away.

The location of The Orange Grove is close to the Maritim/Movenpick Resort considered one of the best in Luxor for Birdwatching. Birds such as the Hoopoe, Nile Valley Sunbird and Little Green Bee-eater etc can be seen here on a daily basis.

The Orange Grove is perfect for those wanting a more tranquil alternative to the City centre and requiring more outdoor space than a flat/apartment can provide. The Orange Grove is also perfect for birdwatchers and lone women travellers. As both houses are set at ground level there are no stairs to climb which can make it suitable for those with mobility issues.

The living room has a TV, Satellite and DVD Player as well as a small DVD and book library for your enjoyment.

The Houses have a garden view however there is a small seating area overlooking a branch of the Nile where the Theban Hills can be seen in the distance.

The Orange Grove consists of the Mud brick house, the communal gardens and the main family homes. We live in the main house so are available whenever you need assistance without being intrusive.

Being in the countryside here in Luxor, telephone landlines have not yet reached us making it impossible to have Wireless ADSL.However we can loan you a Wi-fi modem which will allow fast internet access for up to 6 devices for a small charge. It's topped up like a mobile phone so the charge is purely reimbursement for our costs.

This area is very popular for those that want to be on the East Bank for the Temples, Shops and Restaurants yet want a more peaceful location that the city centre can offer. The Orange Grove is very unique as there are very few Self catering apartments here on the East Bank of Luxor with a garden and indeed access to the Nile.

After a week in Cairo arriving at Angela and Adel's Orange Grove was a revelation and sorely needed Oasis away from the traffic noise and beautiful madness of Cairo. The beautifully decorated, well appointed villa lies in an idyllic grove of lemon and orange trees. The villa was spotless, the atmosphere homely and inviting, and the bedrooms comfortable, clean and felt like home. Angela and Adel were fantastic hosts, helping with food shopping, restaurant tips, ballon and felucca rides. Angela was incredible helpful all week and always responded promptly with enquiries and requests. We really couldn't have been better looked after and our time in Luxor was made that much more special by Angela and Adel's help and hospitality. I'm planning on returning next year with my whole family. 5 minutes away is a 5 star hotel - The Jollie Ville - that has three pools, including an infinity pool, Children's pool and relaxation pool with free towels, sun beds and waiter service. You have to pay for a day pass £7.50 to access the amenities but it's worth it if you want to sunbathe by a pool. Dinner buffet there is out of this world and the staff incredible courteous and friendly. You have the best of both worlds at The Orange Grove: a peaceful, gorgeous Oasis and luxury accommodation with all the other amenities you might need down the road, over the little bridge at the hotel on Kings Island. Luxor proper is 10 minutes away in a £5 cab ride. And Luxor itself feels very safe. I love Upper Egypt and the people here were incredibly friendly, welcoming and respectful to both me and my grown up daughter. It was a week I'll never forget. Thank you Angela and Adel. And see you soon. Damian and Grace.

The Orange Grove is absolutely beautiful. The pictures are completely accurate and we felt so lucky to be staying there. It's idyllic, and quiet and secluded, but at the same time the house is so close to Luxor town, the West Bank and the airport and train station (there is a taxi rank a two minute walk away where you can get a quick cab into the main town). You have an entire home to yourself and there is so much space. Angela and her family are wonderful and very helpful - they are fantastically welcoming. There is the most gorgeous terrace looking over the garden; we could have sat there all day had we had the time. It's incredibly good value and we really didn't want to leave. One thing to note is that there is a local hotel called the Jolie Ville, which you can walk to, if you don't fancy being in the hustle bustle of the main town - the staff are great, the terrace with a view over the Nile is wonderful and it was a really peaceful experience. I would definitely stay at the Orange Grove again - and it is by fay the best option if you want to see all of Luxor but also want a calm space to read your book and sit in the sun.

The Orange Grove is an idyllic space that is perfect for relaxation, detox, and artistic inspiration. It was surprisingly great value for its cost. The grove has a spacious private garden and patio, upscale and authentic furniture where every item has been carefully chosen to create classic Arabian cozy ambience (reminded me slightly of Moroccan styles with the deep red theme), and is well equipped with great kitchenware for those who'd like to cook, air conditioners, heaters, and a modern TV and DVD with a huge dvd library. The greatest perk of this space is the warm and hospitable host family who live on the same property but are separated from the rental space by a ledge of bushes. They were kind enough to pick us up at the train station, stock the fridge with basic groceries and freshly pressed orange juice, and be instantly available when any help or guidance was needed yet completely respectful of privacy and space. I had a blissfully wonderful time at the orange grove and highly recommend this property for those who appreciate aesthetics, quiet, and nature.

We live on site so are always available to help during your stay. As it's quite a trek up the garden to the main house, many of our guests prefer to message us via (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) during their stay.

I'm a 30 something and live here in Luxor with my husband of 16 years, Adel and my two children. I love traditional Egyptian handicrafts, beautiful Kilims, copper lighting, handwoven baskets and well...just anything that has what I like to call "the Arabesque touch"

I'm a big fan of mudbrick which I guess is an unusual thing to be a fan of. Its eco friendly, insulates noise and is cool in summer so that is why we decided to build a mudbrick house for you to stay in and get a taste of the real Egypt.

When I travel I tend to steer away from 5 star hotels. I just don't want to feel that I could be anywhere in the world. That's why I like to stay in small independent Guest houses or rentals so you get that personal touch. We want to offer the same to our guests.

We live in the main house in the grounds so we are always here to help without being so attentive that we drive you mad and you wish we'd throw ourselves in the Nile!

We built the houses especially for guests to stay in. We've never had the attitude of "Oh! That'll do". Everything from the hand painted bedroom mirror, individually crafted furniture knobs, handwoven kilims have been especially selected to help create a feeling that you are really, truly in Egypt.

We've tried to make a place that you can call home for the duration of your stay and indeed somewhere I'd like to stay myself.

In the communal gardens we have over 150 fruit trees including banana, mangos, peach, fig and orange . The area that consists of our Mudbrick houses, communal gardens and our family home is called "The Orange Grove".

If I had to name my favourite film it would be Shawshank Redemption, I just love the bit at the end where Red finally meets up with Andy on the Beach. I love my Kindle and don't know how I ever survived without it. I love cooking, gardening and just enjoying life.
