This well-appointed one bedroom apartment in Hollywood is right off of Highland Avenue, two blocks north of Melrose Avenue and very centrally located. You'll immediately feel right at home in this squeaky-clean unit -- and there's a Starbucks directly across the street!
If you are seriously considering renting this apartment, please take the time to read all of the information that I've provided as I've gone into great detail. I'm certain that most, if not all, of the questions you may have will be answered here! It will save on unnecessary back & forth emails.
Some overall advice to those of you who are new to Airbnb -- fill out your Airbnb profile! It's very helpful to the hosts you are approaching about renting their unit. For most, it's not simply about renting the unit -- it's about finding someone who's going to be a good fit. In addition to making sure that your profile is detailed/complete, let the person know why you're coming to their city, exactly who and how many will staying, etc. It's very helpful and it saves unnecessary back and forth emails. Familiarize yourself with how Airbnb works and their service fees. Many people requesting a reservation want me to tell them the total amount it's going to cost for their stay. The Airbnb system gives you that detailed information. Please read it carefully. The system calculates the total fees that you will be charged. The person renting to you doesn't see the total amount that you will pay -- they only see the amount that they will end up making for each particular guest's stay. Important -- the Airbnb system automatically calculates the weekly and monthly discounts that apply to this apartment. There's no need to email me and say "Now, how much will that be with the weekly/monthly discount" as it's automatically calculated. So, the price you see on your computer screen is the total price that you'll pay. The total amount includes the cost of the apartment, the cleaning fee, the Airbnb service fee and the lodging tax that the City of Los Angeles collects.
Please also note that I don't negotiate my nightly rate nor do I offer any discount if you're staying less than a week.
This generously-sized one bedroom/one bath apartment is perfect for one person or a couple. Please note that I do not allow more than two people to stay in the apartment. There is a separate living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.
This is NOT a share situation -- meaning you are NOT sharing with the owner of the apartment. If you are renting this apartment, you/your additional guest will be the only ones staying here! This unit is set-up specifically as an Airbnb rental so there are no personal items belonging to the owner in the apartment.
This two story Spanish apartment building was built in the 1930's and is now set-up as a live/work building. There are a total of twelve units in the building. Four of the units house businesses that are only around during business hours. The other eight units are live/work situations. The particular unit that I'm renting is on the first (ground) floor in the back so it is easy to access and quiet.
The bedroom features an incredibly comfortable/firm Sealy queen-size mattress made-up with high-end linens and your choice of down or down-alternative pillows.
The kitchen is fully-equipped with a full-size refrigerator, a 4-burner gas stove & oven, microwave, pots/pans, coffee maker, toaster, blender, food processor and everything you need to cook & eat your meals. There is NOT a dishwasher in the kitchen.
The living room has a 50" Smart tv with Blu-Ray player and access to the major network channels (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, etc). There is no cable. The Smart tv with Roku offers access to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and other on-line streaming services. Each guest would need to use their personal log-in information for any of the streaming services.
The bathroom has a shower (no tub) and plenty of towels & washcloths. Additionally, the bathroom cabinet is stocked with shampoo/conditioner, body wash, pain relievers, toothpaste, dental floss, Q-Tips, cotton balls, antiperspirant, shaving cream, razors, etc. The water pressure is excellent and there's always plenty of piping hot water!

There is NOT a washer/dryer in the unit nor are there laundry facilities in the building. There is a laundromat three blocks northeast of the apartment.
This is a NON-SMOKING apartment and building . That means no cigarettes, no vapor cigarettes, no cigars, no pipes and no marijuana anywhere inside the building or apartment. There is a zero tolerance policy with regard to this so anyone breaching this rule will be asked to vacate the apartment immediately.
NO PETS, unfortunately. Inquiries from guests who have "registered service dogs" have gotten more frequent. I am unfortunately unable to host those guests as the bigger picture is future guests who have severe allergies. Even if a dog is considered hypoallergenic there are many people who are still allergic -- in fact, I'm one of those people. Once a pet has stayed in the apartment, I can no longer advertise it as being smoke & pet free.
This is a quiet building. No parties whatsoever and no entertaining large groups of people. It's important to keep your personal noise at a respectable level at all times of the day/night. That means conversations, phone conversations, tv and music.
Because of the quiet nature of the building, I am unable to accommodate you if you have children under 5 years of age. I love kids but have to be respectful to the other tenants in the building.
There is no assigned parking for this building. There is free street parking in front of and around the building and it's generally quite painless to park. To my knowledge, no guests of my unit have ever found the parking to be problematic.
The apartment and all of it's contents are yours to enjoy during your stay! I am looking for guests that will treat the apartment, it's contents and the other tenants in the building with care and respect!
I will not be at the apartment to meet you upon your arrival. There is a code to enter the apartment building and a code to access the key lockbox for the apartment. You will receive this information automatically after you've confirmed your stay. Please be sure to look for it when you receive your confirmation email from Airbnb. You will need that information to gain access to the apartment.

While this is a live & work building, if you're planning to use the apartment to host castings or entertain groups of friends or business clients, this isn't the right place for you. Seriously.
If you're traveling with tons of luggage and/or sporting equipment like a surfboard(s) or bicycle(s), this apartment isn't going to be a good fit for you. While the apartment is generously sized, it's not set-up to accommodate tons of "stuff"!
No parties! Absolutely, positively no parties and no excessive noise.
I can't stress enough that this is a very quiet building and the full-time tenants absolutely won't tolerate excessive noise.
NO SMOKING inside of the apartment nor anywhere inside of the building. That means no cigarettes, no vapor cigarettes, no cigars, no pipes and no marijuana -- even if you have a medical marijuana card.
No candles or incense are to be burned.
No illegal substances in the apartment.
Keep your noise at a level that isn't disruptive to other tenants in the building. That means conversations, phone conversations, tv and music.
Please treat the apartment, it's contents and the other tenants in the building respectfully.
