Quirky and affordable! The shower situation is not ideal and remind me of campgrounds I stayed in as a kid. The boat was clean and cozy. The A/C unit worked great. The community showers were filthy. Excellent venue to (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)! I enjoyed my stay and Starr did a great job warning me about the gas shortage in Marfa prior to my arrival.
My husband and I were AirBnB Superhosts of a 1962 Airstream trailer in south Texas and are familiar with hosting a unique property such as the boat. Our expectations were that of what we would provide our guests, and of what we have experienced travelling Europe and the USA in 15 Air BnB properties. This was the only property where we encountered an issue with cleanliness. There was hair stuck to yellow grime in the refrigerator, hair and dirt on the small floor, the air conditioning filter was heavily CAKED with dust, hairs on the bed and every surface in the boat needed to be cleaned when we arrived. We did not receive a response from Starr when we messaged her about the condition of the boat, and were charged a $25 cleaning fee. Overall this is a neat concept and a good location. The bed is comfortable and we enjoyed the outdoor shower.
Definitely for people who are small! (Luckily that was the both of us.) It's a unique experience to sleep in a land boat. I found the bed to be super comfortable and loved the view out to the sky. There are restroom facilities in the RV park and this lil' place is pretty much in walking distance to anywhere in Marfa.
