Bedroom is on the second floor of a two story home; it is equipped with TV, Netflix streaming and a diffuser. My wife and I live in the house with two dogs. The bathroom is shared. Guests have access to our private swimming pool with spacious yard and BBQ. WIFI is available throughout the house. We have a large dining table guests are encouraged to use for sipping wine, eating or working on their laptops. Other guest spaces include: kitchen, family room and bar.
My wife, two dogs and I live on a 1/4 acre lot with a two story detached home. There is a fenced back yard with swimming pool, lots green space and lawn, BBQ and plenty of privacy and lounge space. In our living room we have a 150 projector screen which is great for catching movies and sports games (I'm a huge Toronto Maple Leafs fan!). In the den we have a gas fireplace and bar. We have a kitchen and guests are welcome to use it. WIFI is available throughout the house and by the pool and in the back yard. We have a dining table that seats 10 and love to have guests eat, work on their laptops or hang around talking about the days adventure with a fine glass of wine or beer.
On the first floor, most of the house is open to our guests: Living room, dining room, kitchen, den, half bath and laundry. The first floor office and garage are private spaces. On the second floor, the bedroom and shared bathroom is open to our guests. The front yard, back yard and pool are also open to our guests!
Общение с гостями
When my wife and I are home from work, we are usually hanging around downstairs in the living room, the den, the kitchen or the back yard. We are both friendly and enjoy the company and conversation of our guests; but we also appreciate it when our guests desire privacy.
Другие важные подробности
If we are not home for check-in, there is a lockbox with the key in it. Call us to get the code.
Please take your shoes off in the house.
Feel free to use the pool. If taking midnight swims, please keep the noise level down for our neighbors.
We ask that food be eaten at the dining table instead of the rooms.
Our house is a non-smoking house! We have chairs, outdoor furniture and an ashtray in the backyard if you are a smoker.
Check-in time is 5:00 pm. If you need a place to put your luggage until check in time, we can arrange for you keep your stuff in the house while you wait. When our work schedules permit, we will have the room ready as soon as possible, often before 5:00 pm.
Check out is 11:00 am. If you need a place to put your luggage after you have checked out, we can arrange a place for you to store your stuff.
If checking in early or late, please do take the key out of the lock box. Also, if storing luggage before your check in time or after your check out time, please do not take the key out of the lock box. This is often a transition period where two guests depend on the same key.
If neither of us are home and you are checking out, please put the key back in the lock box! If you have forgotten the code it is on the cabinet door above the microwave. This will enable the next guests to check in.
When you are not at the house, please ensure both the front and back doors are closed and locked.
It should be no surprise that we have dogs. They are non-aggressive and shy. They tend to be especially shy when we’re not home. The larger male is ‘Crow’ and the smaller female is ‘Raven.’ Raven is usually more timid and shy then Crow. If Raven allows you to pet her, consider yourself really lucky; perhaps you should gamble when here in Vegas! Our dogs are brother and sister and were born as wild dogs on a Native American Reservation in Arizona, then captured as adolescents. We rescued them from an animal shelter around five years ago.
We do not wear shoes in the house. Please put your shoes under the bench by the front door so our dogs can chew them! Just kidding, our dogs won’t touch your shoes!
We rent two rooms on Airbnb. If you are the only guest, you will have a private bathroom. If the other room is being rented, the bathroom will be shared. You will have clean towels and wash cloths put on your bed. We recommend that you hang your towels on the back of your door (there are hooks there for this reason) so nobody accidentally uses your towel.
We have dual band WIFI. To log into our WIFI, the network is either ‘JootWifi’ or ‘JootWifi-5G’ and the password is ‘Guest133’ (the password is case sensitive).
Your bedroom is equipped with cable television and a Netflix streaming device (either a PS3 or Amazon Firestick). If you need assistance using the streaming service, please let either of us know and we’ll gladly get you up to speed.
In addition to in-room entertainment, we also have cable television in the bar/den and family room. The family room setup is a 150 inch projector. If you would like to use the projector, please let either of us know and we can walk you through the setup and shutdown process. It isn’t complicated but requires a walk through.
You will find a tea kettle and Starbucks pod coffee machine in the kitchen. We stock black and green tea; mild, medium, dark and espresso coffee roasts. We keep sugar on the counter and milk is on the bottom shelf of the fridge door. Please help yourself to coffee and tea.
We have aromatherapy oil diffusers in the bedroom. We will usually have them running when you arrive. There are two buttons on the diffuser. The small button is a night light. The long button turns it on and off. If you press the long button once, it turns it on non-stop for three hours; if you press the long button twice, it turns it on intermittently for six hours. The diffusers generally run out of water and oil after a day or two. If you would like us to refill your diffuser, please let us know and we’ll get on it as soon as possible!
If you are planning on cooking, please first meet with us so we can show you around the kitchen and coordinate cooking times. Also, feel free to use the BBQ in the back yard! If you make a mess in the kitchen, we ask that you clean it!
There are two taps on the kitchen sink. The small tap is filtered-reverse osmosis water. Please only use this for drinking water! Also, we hand wash our dishes and use our dish washer as a ‘drying rack;’ please do not put dirty dishes in the dish washer!
When in the kitchen, you will notice every cabinet surface has been painted in chalkboard paint. We encourage our guests to take a drawer, door or random surface and get creative drawing in the kitchen! Chalk is in the drawer to the right of the oven.
The bathroom is shared with other Airbnb guests. We ask that you leave the bathroom orderly when you are done so others can comfortably use the space. Clean towels and clothes will be left on your bed when you check in; we ask that you hang your wet towels and clothes on the hooks behind your bedroom doors, not in the bathroom. When you check out, please leave your dirty towels hanging on the hooks behind your bedroom door.
June, July, August and September are really hot months here in Las Vegas. Temperatures regularly get up to 115 degrees (46 Celsius), and on occasion, even hotter! If you’re doing a lot of outdoor activity, please remember to stay hydrated and take electrolytes, salt and potassium, especially! It’s also handy to have the pool in the backyard when it’s this hot; feel free to use it at any time! If you’re taking a midnight swim, please remember we have sleeping neighbors, so keep the volume down during the wee hours of the night. Note: our pool is deep and stays pretty cool even in the summer; temperatures range between 75 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit (24 and 30 degrees Celsius).
Please keep bedroom door closed at all times. If the door is left open in the summer the air conditioning quality is sacrificed. Also, our dogs are not allowed in the bedroom, but could sneak in if the door isn't closed.
Getting around town…. Most guests come with a car, in which case it’s super easy to go anywhere! But sometimes a car isn’t in the equation. In which case, we recommend Uber and/or Lyft. Taxi Cabs are generally twice the cost. We are only 3.5 miles (5.5 kilometers) from the strip and using Uber or Lyft will usually cost anywhere between $3 and $15 (depending on what service you order). For the really budget conscious, the city bus (#202) is a short and direct ride along Flamingo Rd and runs frequently! The cost for the #202 is $2 per ride, $3 for a 2-hour pass, $5 for a 24-hour pass, $34 for a 15-day pass and $65 for a 30-day pass. The only disadvantage to the bus is it takes a 10 minute drive and turns it into a 30 minute bus ride. We have the bus schedule for the #202 at the back of the binder in your room!
We ask our guests to be mindful of the noise level after 11:00 pm.
