High in the Mpumalanga Mountains 27 Kms from Dullstroom. An hour and a half away from the famous Kruger National Park. Hackle is quietly situated on a mountain estate that is home to many wild birds and animals. It boasts 5 trout fishing dams. Hiring of fishing rods and fishing licences may be obtained from the hotel. Mountain bikes are also available for hire. There is a SPA at the hotel. Booking is essential.
Hackle is a luxury 4 bedroomed home all en suite. covered parking for 4 cars, underfloor heating and heated towel rails, a large gas fireplace in the lounge, for the cooler months, a Large open stacker doors for the cooler months, with views to die for. The home is open plan and has every amenity that you would need for a home away from home. Hackle Has a limited TV bouquet in the lounge. and the channel in the lounge will play into the suites.
Our lodge is our home away from home, so we do keep our own personal items in the house. I.E. Books, games, etc. We do not intertain bachelor parties/ bachelorette parties/school leavers parties. In fact we are a family home, and do not entertain parties our loud music at all. No pets as we are on a game farm.
Guests will have to contact our housekeeper who will arrive and turn on geysers and hand over keys, the whole house is made available to our guests. The house has a full clean on arrival and a full clean when you leave additional maid services can be arranged.

The whole house and rooms are available and the owners can be contacted via cell phone. Our caretaker lives down the road, and can be contacted should an emergency occur.

Hackle Lodge is on the Kloppenheim Estate, which is a Goodersons owned hotel. You will be able to have meals at the hotel should you wish. They have a swimming pool and Spa and various other activities available for hire. Power outages are a way of life in South Africa, but usually do not last too long. The Hotel has a generator, and we have a stand alone gas bottle for emergencies. The area is high in the mountains, and the mist often rolls in, take warm clothes, and always be aware of creatures both big and small that are also live on the estate.
No smoking in the house or bedrooms.
There are no cots or camp cots or bedding for children not yet sleeping on a bed.
