This historic 1928 apartment has original wood floors; a classic tray ceiling; and the rooms flow into separate living, kitchen and bedroom spaces. The Miracle Mile is at the heart of LA. Super easy to take transit to Hollywood, Downtown & the beach!
Please note I only rent to people who have feedback/reviews on their profiles. I've had considerable problems in the past renting to people who have no feedback/reviews.
The apartment truly feels like a home thanks to the separate rooms and the flow between the rooms. The decor is warm and inviting, featuring dark woods; contemporary, vintage and antique furniture; original art; and eclectic design touches. There is a dedicated guest dresser in the bedroom, though the bedroom space is so large that many guests leave their suitcases open on the floor. If needed, there is dedicated closet space to hang clothes or to store suitcases.
Wifi, Cable and Apple TV are all available if you need some time to rest up from all your sightseeing!
Additionally, being Los Angeles and all, the space is extremely earthquake proof with secured furniture and cabinets (instructions for opening are provided) and ample emergency supplies.
It's an ideal location for people visiting LA without a car (see Other Things for more info on the parking difficulty in the neighborhood).
Guests will have access to the entire space, aside from the office. There is a laundry room in the basement and the stairway to the laundry is right next to the apartment.
Trash cans are located in the back of the building should a bag need to be removed from the apartment.
Общение с гостями
I most likely will be away if the apartment is being used. However, I'm available via email and other means, like text and apps. Additionally, there is a neighbor who is available via text and phone who is very knowledgeable about the space and the neighborhood.
Другие важные подробности
I stress that this is an ideal location to not have a car, as it is centrally located in the city and has easy access to public transit. Uber/Lyft to Hollywood is usually less than $10 and less than $20 to downtown (which is less than you'd pay for parking in each location). If renting a car, please note parking is notoriously difficult (almost impossible) in the Miracle Mile and there is a strong possibility of parking a 10-20 minute walk away from the apartment. There is a guest parking pass if you can find parking on this block, but odds are slim of that happening.
However, this is a great location to go car-free. Details of public transit options are found under "Getting Around." Walking details are found under "The Neighborhood."
A maximum of two guests.
Please respect the space and the decor as if it were your own. If you try to pick up a piece of decor that doesn't easily move, it means the piece is secured in place. Clean up all messes.
No pets allowed.
Smoking is absolutely prohibited in the apartment, as are drugs of any sort.
Alcohol is certainly permitted - especially since I'm a whisky writer! You may even find some bottles that I "forgot" to put away waiting for you :)
With advanced permission, the couch may also be used as a sleeping space if needed. Sheets will be provided.
I've ventured into Airbnb after years of traveling as and hosting couch surfers. I love exploring new cities (I've been to nearly 40 countries) and meeting the people who live there. Having a local home to stay in takes you deeper into a travel experience than simply staying at a hotel, and I'm happy that people will use my home for their time in Los Angeles.
While here you may notice lots items related to whisky. I'm a writer and that's my specialty. Nothing gets a conversation going like a great dram of whisky. I may even leave a wee bit out and about for you :)
