The cabin is located 45 minutes north of Santa Fe, 25 minutes from Abiquiu, one hour from Taos, and only a 10 minute drive to the Ojo Caliente Spa.
Did you arrive here without sunscreen, lotion, shampoo/conditioner? We have you covered, and each morning of your stay, complimentary coffee/tea is available for you to prepare.
The cabin is located on 116 acres of wild river, mesas, and nearby spectacular desert lands. Many bird species call this area home. We are in the Bosque and winter nights are cold, but we generally have pleasant sunny days. The Ojo Caliente river flows through the middle of our property, and directly in front of the cabin. It attracts plenty of wildlife, and in residence are raccoons, a variety of snakes (yes, in the summer occasional rattlers too), many lizards, squirrels, rabbits, beavers etc., with elk visiting nightly, yet NO negative interactions with animals has ever been noted.
Trails give easy access to all areas of the property including the challenging hike (1000 vertical feet in just over a mile) up Shadow Mountain (winter ice may close trail). Walking the Cholla Labyrinth in the early morning is an amazing experience!
We are close to many areas of interest in N. New Mexico, including America's latest National Monument. Rafting, climbing, hiking, biking, are all only minutes away, and Dave knows it all! We want to make the cabin your base for exploration!
You will love our pedestrian suspension bridge, and our brand new Ojo Rainbow bridge guaranteed to shift your experience whether you have visited us before or not!
