You can hear the brook from the two sunlit rooms. The space is cozy, the woodsy, and the nature trail next door is a delight. 15 minutes from the Harlem Valley Wingdale train station.
Fireplace: If you decide to use the fireplace please open the flue, shut off fans, and close windows. If windows are open smoke will be pulled into the house and it'll smell bad.
Stove: The electric stove has a large and small setting for some burners, make sure the red lit area is under the pan not outside of it. Also the center burner is a warmer only and does not get hot. Enjoy some cooking!
Grill: There is a charcoal grill on the porch. It comes with a charcoal smoker which can be used to light the charcoal for the grill. Stuff the bottom of the smoker with paper towels, remove the top grate of the grill, place the smoker on the lower grill, light, and the charcoal will be ready in ten minutes. Then you can dump it out and cook.
Fire pit: If you light an outdoor fire in the stone ring by the stream, please do not leave it un-attended. When you are done with the fire, fill the bucket in the basement with water and douse the flames. This will assure you don't start an outdoor fire.
Guests have the run of the house! Before you arrive you should be given a code to the front door to make access to the house easy.
Общение с гостями
A host will be on premises during your stay in the host suite upstairs from the listing.
Please contact a host before using the stove, grill, fireplace or fire pit. If you are about to light something on fire or cook, we are be happy to help you do it safely! If you need anything I always check the app and am glad to help out.
About to light something on fire? Please contact me before you use the stove, fire place, fire pit, or BBQ. A quick conversation will help keep everyone safe. Please remove shoes at the door. We have a septic system, so only toilet paper in the toilets. Connecticut has single stream recycling, which means all recycling material goes in one bin, BUT no soft plastics like shopping bags can go in. Please treat our home with respect, and ask us to help with spills, and breaks. Thank you for staying.
