Our home and farm is very secluded and overlooks the KY River situated on the top of the Palisades. Minutes from Lexington, Keeneland, Shaker Village and Bluegrass Airport. The Bourbon Trail is nearby as well! 5 bedrooms, vaulted ceiling, 3000 SF home with screened porch and a hot tub off master BR. We have wide interior doors and a good layout for wheelchairs, combined with a portable wheelchair ramp to negotiate the 2 step into the house if needed.
We built our dream home in 1998 one of the most gorgeous locations in the Central KY area. We raised cattle and horses over the years. Now we are turning the farm back to nature as more and more of the surrounding land is being developed. There is a lot of wildlife around and numbers are increasing all the time. The house is very open with master bedroom on ground floor and 4 bedrooms upstairs, one in each corner of the house and a lofted den in the middle of the upstairs space. Being near historic Shaker Village we have filled it with "Shaker" style furniture and primitive American decor. We are currently living overseas with our work through the Methodist Church and only need the home while we are stateside, so airbnb seemed like a good match!
You will have access to the whole home with the exception of a couple of "owners closets". There is a 46 foot long screened front porch that overlooks the farm and also 2 decks on the back.

We have a property manager who is very close if needed.

There is a 7% total for 2 different taxes we have to collect independently of airbnb. Yuck.... but sorry! We add this on to the quote from airbnb as it is their policy NOT to collect taxes.
No smoking. Be respectful of the farm and the home!
Jamie and Lisa decided to move to Central America where we had previously done quite a bit of volunteer work over the years. After our last child "left the nest" we rented out our home and farm on an annual basis. We decided to start using airbnb in the spring of 2016 after we finish an extended trip back to the US. We hope this allows us to acquire income from the home and also use it when we return by blocking off the appropriate dates. Lisa is a veterinarian and plagued with health issued was forced to change careers. Jamie is Methodist clergy. Lisa now is a project coordinator building and repairing educational facilities that fall under the Methodist umbrella in Belize. (most schools in Belize are church schools) Jamie is clergy "on loan" from the KY Methodists to the Belize Methodists. We have a wonderful family member, Kathy, who lives very close and will serve as hostess and also the next door neighbor who will be available to watch out and help as well. As this home was built with our own hands as our "dream home" we are wanting to keep it in the family. We used to breed horses but when we the health problems got bad we ceased that and have turned the farm back to "nature" since so much of the land around Lexington is being developed. The wildlife on the farm is amazing. We often see wild turkeys, deer, foxes, racoon, coyote, owls and opossum. There is no place like this farm, as it is remote yet close to so many things. We have 3 wonderful children who we miss greatly. As you can imagine in all the places our family has spread out, we have lots of pet animals that are a HUGE part of our family as well!!! We hope you enjoy our home and we know Kathy and the McCullough family will take GREAT care of you!!!
