Grotto is really beautiful and in a great location! Melisa does a wonderful job of sharing with her guests all of her tips for exploring the island best, plus makes sure her home is clean and comfortable. My boyfriend and I spent 9 beautiful nights here - the bed is clean and comfortable, there's ample closet space, the kitchen is small but good for most needs (we didn't really need it, but do note, there is no microwave), bathroom is larger than expected, decor is lovely, TV well-connected with Roku, and the wifi can be spotty but overall, is fine. We mainly used it to upload our gorgeous pictures to (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) :) The balcony was a great place for drying wet bathing suits and towels and for enjoying some fresh air with some coffee in the morning (though we didn't do too much of that - too hot and humid the week we went). The building that Grotto is located in is close to the on-site restaurant, Slice VI, which was delicious and had incredibly friendly staff, as well as the pool (which we never used but looked very nice - we just were enjoying the beautiful water at the beach too much!). Sapphire Beach is INCREDIBLE - I think it's our favourite one on St. Thomas because of the view and the bounty of extremely friendly locals. The water is so clear, so blue, and there's great snorkeling. Say hello to the friendly rays that like to hang out (but don't spook them, just observe)! And don't forget to hang at the beach bar - the staff will have you laughing and drinking more rum than you ever thought you could. If you see Nikki or Josh, tell them Gabi from Jersey says 'hey!' The food is great too!
Grotto is located about 1/4 mile from Red Hook, which is where you'll likely be doing most dining. Good options here, and the St. John Ferry is also located here, which was perfect for us because we REALLY enjoyed the natural seclusion the beaches on St. John provided (great shopping too!).
Overall, we had a great time and hope to come back very soon. Thank you for everything, Melisa!
