It's an amazing place to stay. I've already recommended to my daughter and friends. Private beach and this cabin is small from outside but I was impressed by the well planned layout for small space. Felt roomy and comfortable. Clean, well equipped and well thought. The sound of wave was very peaceful I saw bioluminescent at night. It was magical. I didn't want to leave.
My husband and I loved our stay at Dana's beach house! Located right on the water at the end of the road it felt incredibly private- almost like having your own beach. We enjoyed seeing the tide come and go, watching otters play and blue herons fish with the binoculars, grilled dinner on the porch, and even took the kayak out and tootled along shore. It was so quiet and peaceful, and just the weekend away from home we needed!
This little home was a perfect way to start my vacation in the Olympic Peninsula. The views of the ocean were incredible. There are many types of wildlife that visited the 'front yard'. We saw bald eagles, otters, seals, and numerous birds. With the wildlife and the ever-changing cloud patterns, I could have stayed there for so much longer just to gaze out of the window (sunsets are a must here.) Inside, the cabin was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, which is no small feat considering the small size. Somehow, Dana was able to fit it all in! We cooked dinner twice during our three night stay just because we loved being 'home' so much, not because there weren't good options in town. The kitchen was fully stocked; it even had olive oil to cook with and seasonings to use. The dishwasher was a great bit of luxury not to have to do the dishes on vacation. The bed was comfortable, the shower ran nice and hot, and the place even had a washer/dryer unit. There is a great collection of books and maps to dive into during our quiet evenings (and games too!) Really can't ask for more! The cabin is at the end of the row of beach houses on Cape Beckett which offers privacy and quiet, but a 15-20 minute drive will get you into the heart of downtown Port Townsend which was lovely. Dana was a very courteous host. Great communication, clear check-in/out information, available to answer questions when necessary. We didn't have the pleasure to meet him, but I'm sure he would have been lovely in person. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing, quiet break to get back in tune with nature. There is a part of me that wants to keep it a secret just to myself though :)
My wife and I love to experience life in different parts of the world and find that staying in a home greatly enhances that experience. She is an industrial designer and I am a real estate developer. We have two school aged daughters that have an appreciation of both nature and…
