An absolute gem of a place - modern comforts nestled away in a completely private setting. Close enough to towns for eats if you want and super close to Shenandoah NP for exploring/hikes yet far enough away from everyone to see the stars at night the way they should be seen. The cottage was super clean and very well set up offering everything you’d need to have a great rainy day if needed indoors. Will come back for sure as we missed a few trails and wineries. Must see the Grand Caverns and visit Lil’ Gus for a burger just a short ride South. We were very fortunate and stayed during the Elkton Spring Festival in town for small town carnival fun without the city shenanigans we get at home.

What a lovely home! And so nicely decorated and well laid out. There was plenty of room for our group of hikers. The location was perfect due to its proximity to the Appalachian Trail. My sister does a lot of cooking and the kitchen had just about everything we needed. We felt so at home that we will try to stay again if we get around to finishing the southern part of Shenandoah NP. Of course, the MAIN thing anyone needs while on vacation is a good night's sleep. The beds were SO comfortable and we slept very well. The big backyard was also a bonus. Definitely a 5 star stay.

Cozy stay with my husband and dog for a week. We ventured into Shenandoah park most days and loved how it was about a quick drive to the entrance (we mostly went to the southern district for our hikes). The jacuzzi in the bear cave after a long day of hikes was perfect way to unwind! We had great weather but I could see if there was inclement weather going outside to the bear cave area for washer/dryer could be tough. But overall loved the house and would recommend!

My daughter, grandbaby and I had a wonderful trip to the mountains. Great scenery! Our stay here was awesome. We even spotted a deer walking through the back yard! Everything was great, except for when we had to leave and head back home.

What a gem! Our family of 5 enjoyed everything about our stay at Hillside Hideaway. Comfortable and cozy atmosphere, very clean. We all enjoyed the hot tub each evening and lazing in the hammock for some down time between hiking and sightseeing. The kiddos loved the books, games, toys, and swing. Rhonda was a great host with easy communication and very clear instructions about the home. We wish we could've stayed longer!

The location is magnificent!!! Truly feels n looks better than the pictures. We loved the house and location soon as we walked in. There r great vineyards nearby too. These r the most responsive hosts I have ever interacted with which is a big plus. I would 100% recommend. Small con is the bunk beds are a little small, so not most comfy for an adult. Otherwise everything else was perfect!

Sara was always responsive to our queries and the place was clean and homey. The lit-up Christmas tree was a pleasant surprise. The kids felt right at home in the game rooms and the adults found everything they needed. Instructions were clear. It was a perfect home away from home for our family. Sara is a super awesome host!

Beautiful home, and property! our stay was quite and relaxing, exactly what was needed! Great views out of the main windows and hot tub! Highly recommend this home!

The house was great for our group. We really enjoyed sitting out on the patio. It was hot when we were there and the AC worked well. We put in our kayak right from the back yard and enjoyed paddling on the river. It was an easy walk to Main Street and Bridgewater College. We will definitely look to book again if we are back in the Bridgewater area.

The small home cabin was a joy to stay in, and left you wanting for nothing more. An introvert's escape for sure. You can really tell how much effort the host put into this home, including how thoughtful they were to the guest's needs. Depending where you enter the driveway from it can be a surprisingly long gravel road drive, and there are some steep hills to climb to reach this particular cabin. We managed with a FWD car without much trouble, just use your vehicle momentum wisely up the steep hills. If going out for breakfast the Gathering Grounds Patisserie & Cafe comes highly recommended.

Clean , quiet and antique furniture are lovely. We thought the kitchen area need more lights Also need more instructions should’ve placed on the kitchen counter like how to use garbage bin under sink etc. also we couldn’t find dish dry rack. Last 1mile was challenging to get the house but we did. Tks

Greatly enjoyed our stay. Had lots of things for the kids to do when we were inside the house and the location was excellent for taking advantage of Massanutten’s activities.

I stayed here with my 9 and 11 year old boys and they absolutely loved the kids bedroom upstairs and the loft. The house was exactly as pictured and honestly the pictures don’t do it justice. We stayed here in order to visit Shenandoah and Luray and I also loved how close this house was to George Wash National Forest which is also very beautiful and on the drive to Luray. Kinga was an amazing host and super responsive the whole time. I would definitely stay here again. It was close enough to town to make a grocery run or go to a restaurant but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to unwind by the river. Thanks for an amazing week!

I had a wonderful stay at this cozy mountain cottage! The home was spotless and well-equipped with everything I needed- fast Wi-Fi, modern appliances, and a super comfortable layout. I especially loved the wood-burning fireplace and the peaceful outdoor area with a fire pit and grill- perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The location felt quiet and tucked away, but still close enough to everything I needed. Highly recommend for a relaxing and refreshing getaway!

This charming little cottage is a wonderful bonus rental to the main house. Though I had not originally rented this cottage when I rented the main house, at the last minute, I had extra guests that needed accommodations and John was able to rent the cottage on very short notice. The cottage was clean and ready for an early check-in in record time and my guests were very happy with this sweet cottage. A beautiful location that is such a lovely spot for a getaway or special weekend trip. A nice little taste of country life for all who come to the Shenandoah Valley.

My fiancé, pup, and I booked this place for a relaxing valentine’s weekend getaway, and we got exactly that! The cottage was charming and such a peaceful oasis with the beautiful views and farm animals in clear sight. The hosts were kind enough to leave us farm fresh eggs, muffins, and valentine’s themed chocolates — all were delicious and well appreciated! Additionally, they were very responsive and extremely friendly :) My fiancé and I spent time cooking dinner together, I baked, and watercolored, it was a lovely time! I highly recommend this place and hope to be back!

Great place that fit the description, we loved the vibes. Outdoor area looked amazing too, just was a bit cold the weekend we stayed. Would definitely recommend.

The house is beautiful - located in a very nice cul-de-sac, and we found it very clean. The living room is great for watching your favorite shows on NetFlix, Amazon Prime, etc... We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner (and playing games) in the dining room. We did find sitting in the back yard at the firepit to be a bit noisy due to its' proximity to the main road, but I think it was a bit busier that usual as it was the Thanksgiving weekend. We would love to come back and do some skiing at the resort!

Our stay was short but the Virginia cottage was perfect for our group. The surrounding area is beautiful. The cottage is no frills but great for a large group. Lots of space.

Stayed here two years ago and when making the same big drive down knew immediately where we’d be staying. Was fantastic the first time and nothing has changed since!

Had an excellent stay at this Airbnb! The space was spotless, exactly as described, and the check-in process was a breeze. Communication with the host was smooth and helpful throughout, and the location was convenient and easy to find. This place offers fantastic value, especially with the added perks – a TV with Netflix, a strong hot and cold water supply, and a spacious backyard filled with fun games.
