The Magical Cabin on Back Creek

Built in 1939 as a fishing cabin by a gentleman who incorporated box cars as rafters and beams, dates still visible since removing the attic. By far the best place I've ever lived. I decided to share it with others who love to explore, who love listening to the voice of the creek or who come just to sit on the porch high above the creek with a spouse, friend, family, or alone. We love sharing our farmstead with guests and also understand if guests prefer tranquil time to themselves. Enjoy our rustic, cozy, historic log cabin in the woods on 21 acres with two streams and a little meadow. The logs, from the 1800's, were reconfigured 17 years ago combining a rich history with high speed internet and modern amenities. Sink into the luscious bed with totally organic sheets, mattress topper, and pillows. Take a walk on the original wagon train road down to a stream or bath your senses in the majestic view of Jump Mountain from the meadow.

Walnut Hills Farm

Restored 1900 farmhouse with high end finishes with a babbling brook and view of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the front porch. Wedding venue, Appalachia Hills, is next door. Walnut Hills is situated between Rocky Mount and Roanoke offering music and other entertainment at the Harvester and Berglund Centers. Franklin County has scenic roads for cycling enthusiasts with easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Good hiking destinations are nearby.
