Everything was perfect! The location was close to everything we needed. The house was clean and organized. It was so chilly outside, we made some soup in the crockpot. We appreciated the containers to take our extras home! Thank you!

Marnie and Brian are phenomenal hosts - they treat you like you are staying at their own home! The amenities at this cabin are endless - I didn’t use half the stuff I brought. I was super anxious about having my very reactive foster pup with me and knowing that the treehouse also had guests with a pup during our stay but we never saw the other group. We could hear them down at the fire pit but otherwise you would never know someone else was staying at the property. Certain areas of the trails are marked for each listing’s use which helps keeps the groups separated. I never thought you could be so tucked away in nature with so many conveniences. If you are on the fence about booking either listing (we booked the treehouse to come visit in the future), just do it; you won’t regret it!

Had a fantastic stay- our focus was hiking at Starved Rock and it was perfect for that. We’re thinking of a summer trip to kayak now as well. The townhouse is very cozy and the dining table was great for playing games with the family. Beds are comfortable and rooms are large. Our kid was excited to use the big jacuzzi tub for bath time. Plenty of counter space to cook together. Recommend bringing foil or plastic wrap as there is none available. Will need to have all ingredients on hand- there are no supplies left from previous guests with things like oil/Pam. Big grocery options are just a short drive away though. For those with electric cars, the Flying J has good level 2 chargers-not as fast as described in listings though. Saw Tesla chargers at the HyVee as well.

My entire team is really happy to have stayed at this house. It’s very clean and cozy. Around the house, you’ll find everything you need. Lori is a great host—she helps with everything and is very helpful.

Great location ! Located between Chicago and St. Louis so about a 3 hour drive to get peace and quiet. Cabin appears to be newly built and the place is SPOTLESS !! 10 minute drive to Walmart or Kroger or if you prefer get some local good eats !! Also plenty of Firewood for us city slickers :)... Has a smoker and a Blackstone griddle that are really good. Only thing if one prefers , bring a charcoal grill if allowed ..?? Place was awesome !! Thank you Jennifer and siblings. 5 STARS !! We'll be going back !!

We had such a wonderful stay at Cara's cottage. The location was incredibly relaxing and exceeded our expectations. Cara was an outstanding host, always quick to respond, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. We look forward to staying at Cara's cottage the next time we visit.

Brent’s place is amazing. He and his wife leave extremely thoughtful amenities and they have wonderful recommendations on places to go and places to eat. His place is EXTREMELY clean, has comfortable beds, and is quiet. We loved it!

We were in town for our wedding and had the most stress-free morning being in walking distance from our venue. We did private early morning vows on the porch swing and it was the most beautiful, peaceful spot. The home was beautiful and very accommodating.
