Anita is lovely, the bed was comfy and the room quiet. This was the perfect base for a few relaxing days. And the vegan breakfast was great.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Motherby House and am so grateful to the hosts, Jacquie and David, for making me feel so welcome. They’re both kind and engaging—and they gave me some great recommendations for places to eat and visit in the area. Breakfast was delicious and Jacquie kindly made me a tasty packed lunch for my hike! I’d be very happy to stay here again.

Beautiful warm clean accommodation . The bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in. Bathroom was large, very clean and hot water. Julie left us a wide choice of breakfast including vegan, lovely. Very private and quiet, parking. Attention to detail was great “sheep” .

I had the most wonderful experience staying here. Rosie was very welcoming and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The cottage is beautiful and really cozy. The upstairs was spacious and the bed was perfect for a good night's sleep. Rosie was kind enough to take the time to walk with me to the River Derwent. It was such a beautiful stroll and a lovely way to see the area through a local’s eyes. She also gave great tips on nearby places to explore and walk around. In the evening, they even offered me pizza and chips, which was so thoughtful and kind. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. I had a fresh fruit salad followed by a lovely hot breakfast. Rosie also shared a homemade jam, which made it feel all the more special. I couldn't recommend Rosie's place enough. Thank you, Rosie and Paul, for the warm hospitality!

Very pleasant stay Dean was very helpful the full English breakfast was great both days great base for exploring the lakes we would definitely stay there again only slight negative was the shower wasn’t very powerful and the bed was a bit uncomfortable but that wouldn’t stop us visiting again thanks

Me and a group of friends stayed here over Easter and it was the most incredible place. Anton and Penny were so helpful and lovely. The complimentary breakfast and food at the pub was so delicious and the yurt was so cosy, clean and well put together. Would definitely come back to this Airbnb. Penrith was a 15 minute drive away and the village was very picturesque. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing stay with some very helpful hosts

This was late booking done on the day. Couldn't have asked for quicker response. House and grounds are great with table tennis and sauna available which we didn't have chance to use due to our own time constraints. Bedroom/living room/kitchen area have everything you could need. Bathroom huge and includes shower and slipper bath. Warm and cosy house, comfortable bed and lovely white linen. Highlight was sitting out watching the badgers feeding on the lawn at dusk. Wanted to see badgers for ever! Food at the pub owned by Richard was great and only minute away on village main street. Richard and Ros very welcoming and friendly. They have thought of everything, far too much to mention. Highly recommend to other guests and hope to return.

Stayed 4 days in Paul’s lovely cottage, just a short walk from Hawkshead village. The accommodations were as expected and Paul could not have been a more gracious host. He has a wealth of local knowledge and directed us on some beautiful walks. Breakfasts were fantastic! Would absolutely return in a heartbeat.

Fantastic place for a weekend break, had my own area upstairs with a small room to the side of the bedroom for breakfast making/easting. Bedroom was very spacious and the bed was most comfy and clean. Great host, very friendly and provided good local recommendations. Parking was perfect (on driveway) and directions were also easy to follow. Definitely would recommend for others if they want a trip to the north of England, great history and walks very close by and Newcastle is about a 50 minute train ride.

Fantastic B&B, the whole house is decorated beautifully and we stayed in room 4 which was spacious, comfortable and relaxing including a sofa. It had everything we needed and more including extra toiletry items in the bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean and the room smelled lovely. The bed was also very comfortable. There was a good selection of cereals etc and cooked meals for breakfast. All were delicious and it was a shame we only stayed 2 nights so we couldn't try more of the options! Sharon was a lovely host, very helpful and easy to chat to. We would certainly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Keswick.

We had a lovely night’s stay. The location is perfect for Kirkby Lonsdale, especially useful given the town itself is very short on parking. It’s a 5-10 minute walk into the centre which is ideal. Fiona provided a long list of recommendations for our stay and communicated promptly throughout. Our room was large and very well furnished. The bathroom was big and the shower excellent. The free ginger cake was great! Breakfast was lovely and so much of it - we had a Full English but fruit, yogurts, cereal and toast were also included. The price for the room was also very competitive. Why pay more for a hotel when this place has everything you could possibly need?

Very comfortable rooms and lovely hosts. The breakfast was a standout, as reported frequently by other guests. Location superb for walking into town, and the upstairs suit afforded plenty of privacy. A real winner!

Had a peaceful nights sleep, Jacqueline and Geoff are friendly warm welcoming hosts. And Geoffs home made granola was heavenly, thank you so so much. The room was warm cosy perfect 💚✨🌳

Diane was a very responsive host and an extremely lovely person. She and Ian were very helpful, the location of the BnB was excellent, the room was lovely and clean with a comfortable bed and nice hot shower. Diane’s cooking was also incredible, we enjoyed two very lovely breakfasts. We would absolutely stay again!

Absolutely amazing place to stay, with an old-school character. Very old building with brilliantly authentic interior, which keeps its own long history and secrets😉. It's a Lancashire hidden (or not so hiden) gem. Literally everything, from the Hosts welcoming attitude to the way the rooms and the entire house are presented, makes you feel yourself like in a hide away from modern cyber age back to victorian and even renaissance times. Thanks a lot for everything, Kevin and Maria! Hope to stay at The Homestead again this year.

I can't recommend Brenda's place highly enough! This was the most authentic and wonderful Airbnb experience I've ever had. From the moment I arrived, Brenda's warmth and hospitality made me feel completely at home. The room was not just cosy and comfortable, but also thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need for a truly relaxing stay. The location is perfect for exploring the Lake District. It's a wonderful driving distance from just about every spot in the Lakes, and yet the village feels perfectly unspoilt, tucked away from the busier areas. What truly set this stay apart was Brenda herself. She went above and beyond to ensure I had a memorable trip, providing invaluable local tips and was so interested and supportive of my research, even gathering lots of books for me to read! Overall it felt more like visiting a dear friend. If you're looking for a genuine, heartwarming, and truly authentic Lake District experience, this is it! ❤️

Clare is a great host and a very nice person! Provided me with everything that I needed for my stay and even more! Lovely place, felt at home. Lovely dogs very friendly. Good bed, bedroom with a lot of space, good bathroom and shower, lot of space on the wardrobe, a place to make a coffee and a mini fridge. Perfect place to be!!

Tony is a kind, reliable, and responsive host who made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The house is beautifully decorated and thoughtfully furnished, creating a warm and comfortable environment. Its location is ideal: just a 10-minute walk from both the train and main bus stations, which makes it a perfect base for exploring the Lake District. We especially enjoyed not having to worry about breakfast each morning before heading off early on our new adventures. Special highlights were spending time with Smudge, Tony’s adorable and playful kitten, and admiring Tony's latest pottery creations. We’d gladly stay here again without hesitation!

Lovely stay. The hosts were very clear on check in instructions. Our room was exactly like the photos. Bathroom was clean. House was perfect location, plenty of parking and everything was in walking distance.

Firstly, and most importantly, Sara was the most incredible host. She is a wonderful human, and looked after me perfectly. Coffee and breakfast in the morning. She arranged a seat in the sun for reading outside in the afternoon, and pre-lit the fire in the evening so the private living room was cozy on my return from dinner. And so much more. Birkenpath is a gem of a house, set in the most gorgeous nature. Large and comfy bedroom inside, and gorgeous hikes just out the front door. Don’t hesitate to book. It is among the very best of the best.

I arrived earlier than check in just to advise that I was actually there and was not a no show due to me not returning till late that night. I was given my keys and had immediate access to the room and a quick drink in the bar before I went to do my thing . A lovely place to come home to with friendly locals in the bar while I was having a nightcap :-)

we stayed at Liz and Edwards farm which was one of the most memorable experience. The place was tastefully decorated by Liz who had been an amazing, helpful and kind host serving up delicious cakes and breakfast each day, making sure we start the day right! She was extremely helpful in suggesting places to visit as well as showed us around her beautiful farm. One of the best bnb's i have stayed at and would definitely visit back when visiting the lake district. The farm gets covered by a blanket of stars at night, an ideal location for a peaceful holiday!
