Everything was great and we had a wonderful time!

Great spot for our family of six. Plenty of space for the kids and dogs to roam. After hiking the hot tub was a big hit. Easy access to SNP and caverns. River access lot was great for fishing but there was an experience with a neighbor. Be mindful of the white posts that are near the sign on the river lot for fox creek lodge. The posts don’t go all the way to the water but those posts denote separate property although there is no sign saying so. When my son was fishing three feet inside that on the rocks in the water, the very vocal neighbor came down to the road and threatened to call the cops on us and yelled pretty aggressively as he continued to walk towards us. It seemed like a strange escalation on his part when we immediately got my son on the other side of the post as soon as he yelled that it was private property. Just a note of caution, as we didn’t go down to the river after that because the guy left us feeling a little unsettled. No fault on this Airbnb at all.

nice and quite, but if you bringing teenagers wifi is needed, it would definitely need more that quite place to entertain them. other than is a beautiful place to stay away from noise and crowds

The chalet was a perfect home base for our stay in the valley over a birthday weekend. Derek gave us clear instructions ahead of time, we had no trouble getting in. We were able to just crash and watch TV the first night in front of the electric fireplace. Second night we hit the hot tub which we needed after a long hike. We found good restaurants in Front Royal and Luray (Osteria Maria, Chop House Bistro) and for coffee in the morning Broad Porch. Check out was also easy, we just needed to strip the beds and take out the trash. And of course we loved being able to bring our doggo. My fiancee had previously been hosted by Derek and we would definitely stay here again.

Very nice and tastefully decorated mountain style cabin. Spacious with great look. Clean, quiet and much nature around. Communication with Lisa and Jim was pleasant, to the point and with quick answers. I can highly recommend

The only part of the stay that didn't get 5 stars was that it wasn't quite as secluded as I'd hoped for. There are a number of homes on the road to the cabin, and a thin line of trees breaks the view. Admittedly unless you're looking for the other houses you don't notice them, so I got past that quickly enough. That said, the cabin was perfect, clean, cozy and everything worked as stated. Having grown up in the country, but living in a city now, I felt the stress melt away as soon as I stepped into the massive yard where my son and I spent a lot of time playing soccer and other sports. My son and wife really enjoyed the hot tub. The location is 15 minutes away from Luray which meant that the stars were amazing for the brief break in the clouds we got, but that it was close enough to get groceries and take out as needed. Plus it's about 20 minutes away from Front Royal so there are places to go and enjoy like Skyline or Luray Caverns. Jackie was a great and responsive host!

This was an awesome stay! The one thing I’d note is to be aware that when you book it’s in a wooded area. We had a run in with a harmless snake that got in the house, but were able to take care of it pretty quickly. There were also some hornets that got in the house. Just be aware that you’re in nature. I recently stayed at a cabin rental near the Shenandoah River, and I can't recommend it highly enough! The cabin was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was absolutely beautiful, surrounded by nature and providing a spacious yard for outdoor activities. Inside, the cabin was just as spacious and inviting. After a long day of hiking, exploring, and fishing, we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. It was the perfect way to unwind! The owners were incredibly responsive and kind. The gentleman went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction, with thoughtful gestures that made our stay even more special. Overall, I loved my experience and will definitely be visiting again. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway, this is the place!

Super cozy and comfortable home away from home feel. The decor is amazing and perfectly fits the layout of the home. Upstairs is warmed by the fireplace and spectacular views of the valley and its numerous deer making it easy to melt into quiet contemplation. The stereo is set up to help set the mood. Downstairs, foosball and air hockey plus a great selection of movies provide indoor entertainment. That and the loft ensure there is room for everyone to spread out while still being close. The forest behind provides a great spot for quick hikes and exploring the beauty of the Shenandoah National Park. Dual ovens and coffee pots is a nice plus.

We throughly enjoyed our stay in the Barn Loft. Andrea and Steve are gracious hosts. Prior to our arrival, we received information to prepare for our stay. We received timely communication on the date of our arrival. The property is even better than the pictures display. We truly felt welcome and at home. The furnishings are cozy and the beds are so comfortable. Our family enjoyed meeting the hosts, exploring the property, and the opportunity to rest and to relax in such a beautiful scenic area. We appreciated the fact that our dog could accompany us on this trip. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We look forward to returning.

The views and peace are unmatched. Enjoyed the paved path to walk dinner off too! Very clean, great jacuzzi tub inside and hot tub outside. Very close to SNP. Full kitchen was nice. Deer entertained us every morning . Loved it all.

This is a really nice place. The cabin is really cozy and well decorated. We stayed here with our golden retriever and he absolutely loved the backyard space. The host was very responsive and it was very thoughtful of him to provide dog treats and snacks. We will definitely try to come back soon.

Peter and Helen were just wonderful from start to finish. They made sure the cabin (which is so lovely, very homey and rustic) was ready for us complete with a book of things to do and intros to the area and their farm. There was a slight issue with another renter on the property, but Peter and Helen had it resolved in less than an hour (even though it was quite early in the morning). Within 15 mins of Sperryville and 40 mins of Shenandoah National Park, absolutely perfect.

Hidden gem! Both the market and the bed and breakfast are amazing. The market has a quant bar and restaurant with great food and drink. It also has normal things you would expect at a market with additional specialty products from local vendors such as goat milk soap, local kombucha and other fun touches. The surrounding town is filled with activities that any history/outdoor enthusiast/wine lover will enjoy. Overall great stay, great communication and individual attention and looking forward to coming back soon!

We truly enjoyed our weekend at "Idyllic Mountain Home - Dog Friendly/great views"! It was all of that and more! Charlotte provided detailed info on how to run the wood stove (early March can get chilly) and we were warm and cozy on both levels all weekend. Other info about the house was very detailed. Our two corgis loved wandering around the property, which is elevated and very private! We took a hike with them on Saturday off of Skyline Drive, which was only about a half hour away; lovely! Dinner Saturday night was a milestone birthday celebration at The Inn at Little Washington, and it was worth the splurge! There's a small area near the bedroom where we set up the dogs crates and they were very comfy while we were gone. I highly recommend Charlotte's home for a weekend getaway!!

Peaceful location and just the right size. We enjoyed our time sitting on the porch reading, eating and just rocking in the large rocking wooden rocking chairs while chatting. We watched the ducks and geese on the lake. In the evenings, we could see the turtles stick their heads out of the water. Although there was lots to do, we only took advantage of the pools. If you are someone who wants to be doing something and planning activities to keep little ones busy, you have lots of options at the resort where this cabin is located.

This has to be one of the most beautiful places we stayed at . It has such a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. We loved every single thing about the stay including the hammock which was undoubtedly my favourite spot. Our host Alton was the sweetest. He helped us before we got there with clear instructions and was super friendly during our stay. He was extremely helpful when I was feeling a little uneasy one of the days and even helped me with meditations. We would totally recommend his place for a romantic getaway!

Fantastic stay overall. The host was very responsive, friendly and accommodating. We made an oversight during our booking in that we didn't notify in advance that we were bringing a pet, but once we explained the issue and discussed it with the host, she was very accommodating and allowed us to pay the pet deposit and stay. She has two small puppers who tagged along with us on several walks around the property (highly recommend walking up Bruce's Mountain for a spectacular view!). Would happily return for another stay in the future.

Our family of four spent two nights at Callie's Cottage. We had a great time enjoying the trails, fishing the pond, and watching the horses. Our kids had a lot of fun playing in the treehouse. The house was cozy, clean and well appointed.

Very private location. The house was a nice cabin with spectacular views and comfortable furnishings. Very spotty Verizon cell service, but wifi worked very well for calling and internet. Would recommend for a private get-away.

Maud was absolutely amazing ! I would recommend this to absolutely everybody! Such a beautiful environment. Both the actual Airbnb and the view of the mountains. I loved the Jacuzzi and the ambience of the place. We were able to Visit some of the local restaurants. And Maud made a lovely breakfast in the morning for us. She was so nice I Will definitely be returning.

This was by far our best experience. The Yurt, the whole homestead, was just incredible. So peaceful and rejuvenating. Already planing our next trip up.
