Nestled in the heart of the Tai Poutini Westland National Park and only a 7-minute drive from the Franz Josef township, our cosy little cabin in the paddocks offers stunning views of the Southern Alps and ample privacy in a rural setting. Relax after a fun day of hiking and sightseeing while enjoying our spectacular West Coast sunsets, listening to the native birds, stargazing on the deck or simply being lulled by the rain.

On the Cycleway, Hokitika

Situated on the Westcoast Wilderness Cycleway 6km from Hokitika town centre my place is perfect for all independent travellers. The unit is fully self contained with it's own entrance and great rural views. The Royal Mail Hotel (Woodstock Hotel) is only 3km away and serves great pub food as well as their own craft beer in a historic pub with a lively atmosphere and views of the river. Town is 10 minutes drive away with a selection of good dining options, takeaways, bars and a supermarket.

Franz Josef Getaway

Settled in the stunning mountainous surroundings of Franz Josef, with surrounding views of Franz Josef Glacier and Lake Mapourika. This stylish, modern house is a great place to sit back and relax with a coffee in hand. This house features 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with a fully equipped kitchen and open plan dining room . Feel free to kick back outside and enjoy a BBQ with friends. The house is situated a 5 minute drive from the bustling town of Franz Josef which features many eateries.

Hokitika Haven

Relax in our 1 bedroom apartment with large open plan kitchen, dining & living area. Bedroom has a queen bed & also a single bed. Heat pump, gas powered hot water along with Sky TV, Sky Sports, Sky Movies and Wifi. Smart TV gives you access to online content as well as Netflix plus more. 50 inch Smart TV's in both the lounge and bedroom. 2 minute stroll to the Glowworm dell in one direction and the beach in the other direction. Easy, flat walk to town approx. 1.5km away. Private parking.

Okarito Cottage - Tigh Na Mara

Beautiful, small but comfortable cottage close to the Tasman sea, native bush and Ōkārito Lagoon. Open plan kitchen/living area with well equipped kitchen and a very efficient wood burning fire. Short stairs leading down to bathroom and bedroom. Queen bedroom with french doors leading out onto private deck area. Amazing views of the southern alps from different points in and around the house. This is a unique space with a homely feel by the sea in a friendly and welcoming community.

The Tower, Okarito

The Tower is a comfortable two storey, seperate building with an upstairs bedroom with ensuite bathroom. It has excellent views of the sea and the Southern Alps. A warm, cosy and quiet space with a private garden. Free Wifi (system fully upgraded August 2021) Downstairs is the living room / kitchenette area. Upstairs and downstairs are connected by external stairs (see photos). Awesome outdoor bath - great for stargazing (new Aug 22). There are balconies on three sides of the tower.

The Nest at Hurunui Jacks (outdoor bath & firepit)

So much more than a place to sleep - toast marshmallows around a private fire, take a bike on the West Coast Wilderness trail, kayak on our little lake! The Nest is a stand alone self contained unit with outdoor bath/shower, close to but separate from the main house. Set on 15 acres of private land, Hurunui Jacks has the Nest and a glamping tent nestled in beautiful West Coast native bush. A small private lake, historic water race & the Kaniere River are on your doorstep.

Bathroom facilities are detached from cabin and shared with our other cabin guests. Our place is perfect for couples and solo adventurers.
